Using the Hawaiian gramma one would translate Aloha into "Joyfully sharing life in the present"
The spirit of Aloha was an important lesson taught to the children of the past because it was about the world of which they were a part. One early teaching goes like this:
Aloha is being a part of all, and all being a part of me. When there is pain - it is my pain. When there is joy - it is also mine. I respect all that is as part of the Creator and part of me. I will not willfully harm anyone or anything. When food is needed I will take only my need and explain why it is being taken. The earth, the sky, the sea are mine to care for, to cherish and to protect. This is Hawaiian - this is Aloha!
As the child grew, the need for a fundamental code of ethics was taught. This code is found within a deeper layer of the meaning of the word Aloha. The code is derived from one of the acronymic meanings of Aloha.

Om Aloha
De ingående stavelserna i ordet ALOHA ger ordet olika "inre" innebörder:
ALO betyder vara tillsammans, dela en erfarenhet
OHA betyder tillgivenhet och glädje
HA betyder andning, livskraft
När alla de här innebörderna förenas i hälsningsordet ALOHA får det betydelsen
"Tillsammans erfar vi glädje och känner tillgivenhet eftersom vi andas samma luft och uppehålls av samma livskraft"...
Aloha antas ofta betyda hej och hej då, och det används på det sättet också. Vi talar om anden i aloha, som så ofta antas betyda vänskap. Och det är vänskap. Men det är också mer. Mer än vänskap, mer än hej och hej då. Aloha betyder kärlek.
Och ännu djupare i ordet ligger kärlekens mening, vilket kan uttryckas som "Att vara tillfreds med." Att vara tillfreds med någon eller något - att älska är att vara tillfreds med.
I den mån som du är tillfreds med dig själv, med andra människor, med världen omkring dig, älskar du. Och kärleken uttrycks och kärleken flödar.
El Espiritu Aloha
El significado literal de aloha es “la presencia de la respiración” o “la respiración de la vida”. Viene de “alo” que significa presencia, "oha" que significa afecto jubiloso, alegría. y “ha”, que significa respiración.
Aloha es una manera de vivir y de tratar a los demás con amor y respeto. Su profundo significado comienza enseñándonos a amarnos a nosotros mismos para así poder amar a los demás.
De acuerdo con los viejos kahunas (sacerdotes), ser capaz de vivir el espíritu aloha era una manera de alcanzar la perfección y realización de nuestro propio cuerpo y alma. Aloha es dar y recibir energía positiva. Aloha es vivir en armonía.
Cuando se vive el espíritu aloha, se crean sentimientos y pensamientos positivos duraderos. Existen, se multiplican y se comparten con los demás.
Inspiradas por la filosofía y sabiduría del espíritu aloha, hoy en día muchas instituciones y negocios en Hawaii llevan ese nombre: Torre Aloha, Estadio Aloha y Aerolíneas Aloha. Muchos cantantes hawaianos escriben e interpretan canciones acerca del aloha.
El Espíritu Aloha como Ley
El espíritu aloha es considerado una “ley estatal”. Aunque la palabra ley suene demasiado estricta y fuerte, el espíritu aloha no es del tipo de leyes que pueden generar problemas si se rompen. Su mayor propósito es que sirva como recordatorio a los oficiales del gobierno cuando cumplen con sus obligaciones para tratar a los demás con profundo cuidado y respeto, igual que lo hicieron sus ancestros. El espíritu aloha es más una lección que una ley. El hecho de aprender y aplicar esta lección en la vida real, los oficiales del gobierno pueden contribuir a hacer un mundo mejor, un mundo lleno de aloha.
