If you want immersive, noise-canceling audio for focused work and gaming sessions on your PS5, choose Logitech Zone 950; if you need lightweight, open-ear comfort that keeps you aware of your surroundings while moving, choose ambie Sound earcuffs AM-TW02.
• Logitech Zone 950: Offers premium hybrid active noise cancellation and 40mm drivers for deep sound, but its over-ear design is heavier and less suitable for high-intensity sports. Ideal for the professional gamer or remote worker who needs to block out the world.
• ambie Sound earcuffs AM-TW02: Delivers an airy, sweat-resistant fit with zero ear-canal blockage, though it lacks active noise cancellation and has shorter battery life. Perfect for runners, commuters, or anyone who needs to hear traffic and conversation while listening to music.
• Who picks which?: Choose the Logitech for stationary, high-focus environments like home offices or PS5 setups, and grab the ambie for active lifestyles where situational awareness is non-negotiable.
The Logitech Zone 950 is engineered for people who demand silence in a noisy world. If you are setting up a dedicated gaming station for your PS5 or managing back-to-back video calls, this headset is built to isolate you from distractions. The defining feature here is the hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which comes with four distinct modes ranging from "High" ANC to a transparency mode that lets outside sounds in when you need them. This isn't just about blocking noise; it's about controlling your acoustic environment so you can focus entirely on the game or the meeting at hand.
Audio quality is another pillar of this device. With large 40 mm dynamic drivers, the Zone 950 pushes a wide frequency range from 100 Hz to 8,000 Hz, ensuring that dialogue is crisp and sound effects have depth. You aren't stuck with a one-size-fits-all sound profile either; the inclusion of the Logi Tune mobile app allows you to use a personal EQ feature to tune the audio exactly to your hearing preferences. Whether you prefer bass-heavy explosions in a shooter game or clear voice lines in a strategy title, you have the tools to shape the experience yourself.

However, this level of performance comes with physical trade-offs. At 1.2 pounds, this is a substantial piece of hardware compared to many true wireless options. While the manufacturer notes that breathable materials make it comfortable for hours, it is undeniably an over-ear design that covers your entire ear. This makes it excellent for long sitting sessions but potentially too bulky for intense cardio or outdoor running where you might feel weighed down. It is also designed primarily for stationary use; the included carrying case suggests travel, but the form factor screams "desk setup." If you plan to use these as best clip-on earbuds for PS5 while lounging on a couch, they will provide a fantastic, immersive experience. But if you intend to wear them during a workout, the weight and enclosed design might become a hindrance rather than a help.
The ambie Sound earcuffs AM-TW02 takes a completely different approach by rejecting the traditional earbud or headphone mold entirely. These are not designed to seal your ears off; instead, they utilize an open-ear architecture that rests gently on the concha of your ear without inserting anything into the canal. This design choice is revolutionary for people who hate the pressure of in-ear headphones or who get sweaty, uncomfortable, or dizzy when their ears are blocked. Because the ear canals remain open, air circulates freely, making these ideal for yoga, jogging, or working in a warm kitchen where heat buildup is a concern.
For those looking for true wireless earbuds for PS5 that double as everyday companions, the ambie offers a unique advantage: situational awareness. Since sound is delivered via air conduction similar to a speaker, you never miss important announcements, a doorbell ringing, or someone talking to you nearby. The device features mechanical click controls, which some users find more reliable than touch-sensitive surfaces, allowing you to answer calls or skip tracks without fumbling for your phone. The Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity ensures a stable connection to your devices, and the ability to connect to up to ten devices simultaneously means you can switch effortlessly between a laptop, a tablet, and a smartphone without re-pairing every time.
The trade-off lies in the battery life and noise isolation. With an average battery life of just 6 hours per charge, you cannot expect to last through a marathon gaming session or a full day of uninterrupted meetings without a recharge. However, the quick-charge feature saves the day, providing one hour of listening time from just five minutes in the charging case. The weight is negligible at only 0.16 ounces per earpiece, making them virtually unnoticeable during wear. They come in various color socks to match your style, adding a fashion element that most technical headsets lack. If you are searching for the best clip-on earbuds for PS5 to use while doing light chores or walking around the house, the ambie provides a freedom of movement that closed-back headphones simply cannot match.
• Best for Battery Life → Logitech Zone 950, offering up to 18 hours of talk time and 40 hours of listening with ANC off, far surpassing the ambie's 6-hour limit.
• Best for Active Sports → ambie Sound earcuffs AM-TW02, thanks to its sweat-resistant, open-ear design that stays secure during movement without trapping heat.
• Best for Noise Isolation → Logitech Zone 950, featuring hybrid ANC with multiple modes to actively block out ambient chatter and machinery.
• Best for Situational Awareness → ambie Sound earcuffs AM-TW02, keeping your ear canals open so you hear your environment naturally while listening to media.
• Best for Gaming Immersion → Logitech Zone 950, with larger 40mm drivers and a sealed design that creates a more cinematic, surround-like audio experience.
• Best for Comfort in Heat → ambie Sound earcuffs AM-TW02, as the open design prevents the muggy feeling common with over-ear headphones during summer or exercise.
• Best for Multipoint Connectivity → Both support multipoint, but the ambie claims connection to up to 10 devices, whereas the Logitech connects two simultaneously (laptop + phone).
• Best for Customization → Logitech Zone 950, allowing detailed EQ adjustments via the Logi Tune app, compared to the ambie's basic mechanical controls and color swaps.
After weighing the specifications and design philosophies of both devices, I would buy the Logitech Zone 950 for my primary gaming and work setup. While the ambie earcuffs are a marvel of engineering for active use, the Zone 950 delivers the immersion and clarity required for serious entertainment. If you are using a console like the PS5, the difference between open-air sound and the deep, isolated audio of a noise-canceling headset is massive. The longer battery life and superior driver size make it the more robust tool for long sessions. That said, I keep the ambie Sound earcuffs AM-TW02 in my rotation specifically for the gym and daily commutes, where I need to stay alert to my surroundings. For a dedicated gaming chair or desk, the Logitech remains the superior choice.
Yes, both devices work with the PS5, but the Logitech Zone 950 offers a better wired experience via USB-C/USB-A adapters for lower latency, while the ambie earcuffs connect via Bluetooth, which may introduce slight input lag depending on the specific game settings.
The Logitech Zone 950 significantly outlasts the ambie, providing up to 40 hours of listening time compared to the ambie's 6 hours, making the Logitech much better for all-day use without frequent recharging.
No, the ambie Sound earcuffs do not offer active noise cancellation; they are designed to let sound pass through your ear canals so you remain aware of your environment, unlike the Logitech Zone 950 which blocks noise electronically.
The ambie Sound earcuffs are incredibly light at 0.16 ounces each, making them nearly weightless, whereas the Logitech Zone 950 weighs 1.2 pounds total, which is noticeable but manageable for seated use due to its cushioned earpads.
