If you want active noise cancellation and long battery life for focused work, choose Logitech Zone 950; if you need open-ear comfort and situational awareness for active use, choose Groovz Open-Ear Plus True.
For nurses specifically, the choice between these two devices often comes down to whether your priority is blocking out hospital chaos or staying aware of your surroundings while moving through busy wards. The Logitech Zone 950 offers a premium, closed-back experience with hybrid active noise cancellation that creates a quiet bubble, whereas the Groovz Open-Ear Plus True keeps your ears open to the environment with an airy, unsealed design. Both are wireless and built for connectivity, but they serve opposite ends of the comfort and focus spectrum.
• Logitech Zone 950: Delivers powerful hybrid active noise cancellation and up to 40 hours of listening time on a single charge, but it sits firmly on your ears and blocks out ambient sound completely.
• Groovz Open-Ear Plus True: Features an ultra-lightweight, open-ear design with Bluetooth 5.4 multipoint pairing and a charging case that displays real-time battery levels, though it lacks active noise cancellation and has a shorter standalone playtime.
• Best For: The Logitech Zone 950 is the pick for deep-focus environments like coding or quiet study, while the Groovz Open-Ear Plus True is ideal for runners, commuters, or anyone who needs to hear traffic and colleagues nearby.
The Logitech Zone 950 is engineered for professionals who need to disconnect from their physical environment to concentrate. Its standout feature is the hybrid active noise cancellation system, which offers four distinct modes ranging from high-intensity noise blocking to transparency mode. This flexibility allows you to shut out the hum of an air conditioner or the chatter of a crowded room when you need to focus, or switch to transparency mode when you need to stay alert. The headset uses large 40 mm dynamic drivers to deliver a rich audio experience, which can be further customized using the Logi Tune mobile app to create a personal EQ profile that suits your hearing preferences.

Comfort is a major selling point here, as the headset utilizes lightweight, breathable materials designed for all-day wear. The earpads are replaceable, and the battery is also replaceable, which suggests a design philosophy focused on longevity rather than disposable electronics. You get up to 18 hours of talk time and up to 40 hours of listening time with the noise cancellation turned off, which is substantial for a full workday or a long flight. The quick charge feature is particularly useful; a mere five-minute charge provides up to one hour of talk time, ensuring you aren't left stranded during a critical meeting.
This product is perfect for remote workers, software developers, or anyone in a noisy office who needs a dedicated space for calls and music. However, if you find over-ear headphones hot or heavy after a few hours, or if you work in a setting where hearing emergency alarms or patient calls is a safety requirement, this might not be the right fit. The design is strictly on-ear, meaning it covers the entire ear cup, which isolates you from the world. It is also certified for major platforms like Zoom and Google Meet, making it a reliable tool for business communication.
The Groovz Open-Ear Plus True takes a completely different approach by prioritizing situational awareness and physical freedom. These are not traditional earbuds that seal into your ear canal; instead, they rest on the outside of the ear with a flexible hook design. This open-ear configuration means there is no pressure inside the ear canal, making them exceptionally comfortable for extended periods, especially for people who find standard earbuds painful or irritating. They are designed to let you hear your music clearly while still being fully aware of the sounds around you, which is crucial for outdoor activities or working in dynamic environments.
Battery management is handled differently here. While the earbuds themselves offer 10 hours of continuous playtime, the included charging case extends the total usage to an impressive 42 hours. A unique feature is the LED Battery Display on the case, which lets you check the remaining charge in real-time without needing to guess or connect to a phone. The device supports Bluetooth 5.4, the latest standard for stable connections, and allows multipoint pairing so you can switch seamlessly between a laptop and a smartphone. The touch controls are intuitive, allowing you to skip tracks, answer calls, and adjust volume directly from the earpiece.
These earbuds are excellent for nurses who need to move quickly between patients, listen to music while walking, or work in settings where hearing overhead alerts is non-negotiable. The IPX4 durability rating suggests they can handle sweat and light rain, making them suitable for gym sessions or outdoor runs. However, because they are open-ear, they rely on passive noise reduction only. If you are in a very loud factory or a chaotic street, you will hear everything, and the bass response, while described as rich, may not compete with the isolation of a sealed, active-noise-canceling headphone. They are best for those who value comfort and awareness over total audio isolation.

In my opinion, I would buy the Logitech Zone 950 if my primary goal was to create a distraction-free zone for work or travel. The ability to customize the noise cancellation and the sheer length of the battery life make it a superior tool for productivity. However, if I were looking for best sleep headphones for nurses or needed to stay alert in a fast-paced hospital ward, the Groovz Open-Ear Plus True would be my choice. The open-ear design ensures I never miss a critical alarm or a colleague calling out, and the lack of ear pressure makes it far more comfortable for wearing during long shifts or while sleeping on one side. For a nurse specifically, the Groovz option often aligns better with the need to remain present and aware of the immediate environment, making it the most practical tool for that specific role.
