In electronics we mainly talk about two types of signals, one is the analog signal and the other one is the digital signal.

Digital electronics is a field of electronics where we study about digital signals. The digital signal is just a sequence one two state mainly on state and the off state. There are represented as 1’s and 0’s in binary.

Complex electronic circuit can be represented using simple Boolean functions. The digital electronic circuits are just a large assembly of logic, gate, usually packed in small integrated chips (ICs).

Before designing a digital electronic circuit you should know about the number representation in digital electronics, simple logic gates. Different Boolean functions and canonical mapping. Then you have to learn about digital arithmatics and build some combinational circuits to implements small mathematical calculation.

After that you will learn about multiplexer, de-multiplexer, registers, encoders, etc
