A choir with four singers is introduced one by one in this dramatic but humorous overture.
Overture
Melody and Major begin to fall in love through the music they sing. Meanwhile, Melody's sister Harmony becomes jealous and vows to take Major for herself.
"Let Your Song Be Our Song"
Major takes Melody to a dance hosted by Minor. But when Melody leaves for a nap, Harmony comes in disguise and dances with Major.
"Come and Waltz"
The dance ends, and everyone gathers for one last song to finish the night.
"Companions' Song"
Melody arrives after the Companions' Song and runs into her own sister. Harmony finishes off her devious plan by accusing Major of cheating, causing Melody to lose trust in both of them.
"Each and Every Thing"
Minor laments the events of the previous night, recalling how he and his three friends used to enjoy singing together.
Entr'acte to Act II
Harmony finally confesses her scheme, realizing what she had done to her own sister. Melody recognizes Harmony's need for a boyfriend, so she offers to match her with Minor. Coincidentally, Minor shows up at their door and knows how to satisfy them right away...
"Melody and Harmony"
Minor surprises Major by bringing Melody to his own doorstep. Major proposes on the spot.
"Major's Proposal"
The choir is back together as two happy couples (Major/Melody and Minor/Harmony).
A celebratory medley of the operetta's musical themes.
"Let Your Song Be Our Song" (reprise) and Finale
