Good mornin’ my love,
let our adventures now begin.
The sun above
keeps us glowin’ through thick and thin.
We’ll go here and there,
anywhere
outside or in.
Time to get amped
as our road together starts.
Every ramp
is its own lil’ piece of art
when we ride all day
on a highway
for our hearts.
On our way we might
find a city in our sight.
Manhattan, New York, am I right?
Adoring every street
that is out for us to greet,
the same way that I adore my sweet
sweet heart!
No matter where you are
with a companion star,
the road is yours to make
and it’s yours to take.
When the night falls,
how do we see at all?!
You have no idea what's ahead.
Just stay along on a road that you've always led.
Ridin' every day
on a highway
to get this bread!
We'll land inside
a quiet garden in the north,
to see the flowers bloom
from our love brought forth.
How pretty is the sight
of a dream come true,
as nature lets the two
of your hearts come through.
Continuin' on
our journey, lookin' for something new.
'Cause where we've gone,
there's not much left to do.
We'll go here and there,
anywhere
when I'm with you.
Time to get amped
for the road in another part.
Every ramp
is its own lil’ piece of art
when we ride all day
on a highway
for our hearts.
Let's go down the shore,
with the waves to explore.
The ebb and the flow shall not bore.
With one step in the sea,
you can start to dance with me.
By holding your hand, I let myself be free!
No matter where you are
with a companion star,
the road is yours to make
and it’s yours to take.
No matter where you are
with a companion star,
the road is ours to make
and it’s ours to take.

(studio recording)
Two dance themes (waltz and trio) alternate one after the other.
Measures 1-7: instrumental introduction
8-40 ("In the winter"): Waltz, D major
41-65 ("Evergreens with a golden glow"): Trio, A major
66-82 ("Every street and bridge"): Waltz
83-105 ("Now for Midtown with trees so tall"): Trio, D major
106-end ("In the winter"): Waltz
In the winter when there's no hikin' in a park,
Manhattan's a beautiful spot.
The bright holiday lights are sight in the dark,
with colors that shine on whatever we got.
Every street and bridge that you come upon at night
is dancing with color and light.
You'll see every tree glowing beneath a golden star,
from Avenue Six to the great Hudson Yards.
Evergreens with a golden glow,
as the silver windows reflect the show.
Trains and subways roll in and out,
like a children's favorite without a doubt.
Come take a stroll on the High Line with me,
waltzing in step for a mile.
Up above in a land of fantasy
surely to give you a smile.
Soon you will find on the road at its end,
everything that we have said.
Hudson Yards, what a place to spend
the day picturing all that's ahead.
Every street and bridge that you come upon at night
is dancing with color and light.
You'll see every tree glowing beneath a golden star,
from Avenue Six to the great Hudson Yards.
Now for Midtown with trees so tall,
you can stand right next to them like a doll.
Nothing says love like a hug as a pair,
red and green Christmas behind.
Take your picture while space is shared
with all couples who know what to find.
In the winter when there's no hikin' in a park,
Manhattan's a beautiful spot.
The bright holiday lights are sight in the dark,
with colors that shine on whatever we got.
Every street and bridge that you come upon at night
is dancing with color and light.
You'll see every tree glowing beneath a golden star,
from Avenue Six to the Hudson... Yards!
II. Manhattan Christmas
(studio recording)
This ballad features a slow main theme, with a stormy section in the middle.
1-21 ("When the spring comes about"): Main theme, B major
22-45 ("If it starts raining"): Development, B minor
46-end ("With the rain in the past"): Main theme, B major
When the spring comes about
and the blossoms are out,
picture us both in the wood and green
of a garden scene.
Let it be true
with a lake that is blue!
A dream so sweet,
now a dream complete.
If it starts raining,
where would both of you go?
Time to get running,
and just hope it will slow.
We're together bravin' the storm,
Are you keepin' each other warm?
Bravin' it.
Keepin' him.
Goin' and runnin' and hopin' the rainin' will slow!
With the rain in the past
and the fields growin' fast,
see every color of flower,
bright as that love of ours.
Let it be true
with a lake that is blue!
A dream so sweet,
now a dream complete.
III. A Dream Complete
(studio recording)
The finale of a multi-movement piece is almost always a rondo: the main theme returns after each contrasting section in the music.
1-4: Instrumental intro
5-36 ("It's here, the season we're both waitin' for"): Main theme, E major
37-52 ("Every street"): bridge
53-68 ("Whether you and I are here or there"): Second theme, D-flat major
69-88 ("On our way we might"): Main theme, A-flat major
89-104 ("On the sand"): bridge
105-120 ("We have built ourselves a highway"): Second theme, A major
121-end ("Go down the shore"): Main theme, E major
It's here, the season we're both waitin' for,
the season to go down the shore.
We'll find a place to stand
in the water or the sand,
and dance with the waves as you and I hold our hands.
Summertime is a time for the beach.
Adventure is now in your reach!
Just put your shoes aside
as you feel the ebb and tide,
enjoyin' your special one with each little stride.
Every street
is like a city on vacation.
With the heat
the shore's a better destination.
Take a stroll
upon the boardwalk for a mile,
on a roll
and in our moment with a smile.
Whether you and I are here or there,
I'll stay with you through the thick and thin.
'Cause with you anytime and anywhere,
a brand new adventure is ready to begin.
On our way we might
find a city in sight.
Manhattan, New York, am I right?
Adorin' every street that is out for us to greet,
the same way that I adore you,
all day to reassure you.
Facing,
embracing,
together
like a pair of feathers
on the sand
as soft as grass inside a garden.
Through the land,
our easy steps shall never harden.
Dream so sweet
and picture us below the sky blue.
Dream complete with every detail comin' true.
We have built ourselves a highway,
with each ramp a little piece of art.
We'll take a ride all day and every day,
to journey away on a highway for our hearts.
Go down the shore,
with the waves to explore.
The ebb and the flow shall not bore.
With one step in the sea,
you can start to dance with me.
By holding your hand I let myself be free.
Summertime is a time for the beach.
Adventure is now in your reach!
Just put your shoes aside
as you feel the ebb and tide,
enjoyin' my special one
and all you and I have done,
We're pacing,
embracing,
on each and every, every little stride!
