All maps downloaded from online mode, obtained from outside Locus Map or from Locus Store are listed in Offline tab of the Maps manager.

The offline maps are listed under the topbar. Tap on the map name and in case your real position is within the map, the map launches into the main screen. Otherwise you are prompted that your position is outside the map and offered to have the map centered. If you positively know that your current position is not on the map and you want to display the map anyway, you can enter the map Action menu and select Center map option. It shifts the map to match its center and the center of your screen. As is mentioned in the chapter about Online maps download, Locus Map stores downloaded maps into the Locus/Maps directory. It displays itself as the Maps folder in your Offline tab. The maps in it are sorted alphabetically as you named them.

Previous "Pro" user with the Classic app. A recent update made my vector maps inaccessible, so I am trying to redownload them. Process fails the same way every time: Download bar shows 50% progress when the full size has been reached (e.g., 167MB/167MB) and then the screen says "Process Unsuccessful" with error code 12549 (never code 12569, which has been written about at length in other posts).

If it is not possible do it automatically, you can do it manually. Best way is to connect your phone to PC via cable and copy the whole "Locus" folder into it. As you have more of them, the "main directory" should be the one. You can copy all of them and merge files into that one manually if there are some maps etc. But be careful - tracks.db and waypoints.db contains your tracks and routes. Don't overwrite the one from main directory with some empty!

Please remove the broken map in the first step. Use arbitrary file manager > go to the folder /Locus/maps . Delete files that have the name as name of downloaded map .sqlitedb and sqlitedb-journal (if exists).

On all of the devices, I am trying to download a portion of the USGS topo maps of the US state of Maine. The download starts fine, and has managed to complete the daily allotment and restart the next day. But at some point on all five devices the download hangs and will not resume.

I aborted the current download and let locus "finish", then moved the two files in the Maps folder elsewhere. Started a new download for a different area, which now appears to have hung at ~500 tiles downloaded. It has returned ":Error: 3, Problem with map tiles downloading".

Try to use common downloading mechanism for Locus maps. In step, where you choose type of download, select "SQL external" and pick your already downloaded map. On same screen - =manual:functions:map_download#final_confirmation - choose "Overwrite older tiles" and define max age in days, for a tiles you wants to keep.

I already use your suggested alternative solution. My problem is, that my offline maps (for mtb) are covering large areas, but almost only mountain / forrest space. So the mentioned disadvantage is a serious one for me, because my selected areas are very far away from beeing a rectangle ... ;)

Hi Menion. I see and hope for more votes ... ;) The offline maps are sqllite databases, aren't they? Can you provide some documentation to these databases, so I may write an own tool to update them. TIA.

Maybe a function to list all the existing downloaded vector maps where an update is available. Then user can chose via tick boxes which maps to update. I don't want maps automatically updated in the background, but I also don't want to check each map via the Store comparing current and store dates. A simple list is the most efficient way for me.

Hello, i am coming back to the original topic, for offline maps. What is the Status here? Is a solution already planned or even existing? I experienced the issued now again when comparing my downloaded map with the on a second phone.

Ich verwende gerne Locus Maps Pro zur Navigation (ggf. zustzlich zu Papierkarten). Nur ist der Download von Offline-Kartenmaterial ber die App selbst recht mhselig. Konkret mchte ich die Karten von SwissTopo offline installieren. Diese sind leider in etwas ber 40 Kacheln gestckelt, d.h. diese mssen alle einzeln heruntergeladen und installiert werden.

Are there any geocaching apps that I can have it download like a 50 mile radius of my house with all maps and geocaches? Seems like most places we geocache, there is no cell signal. The official geocache app looks like it allows me to download individual geocaches for offline, but then I have to plan ahead and know which ones were going to look for before we head out Usually when we geocache, it's spontaneous. We are walking a trail just for something to do and then we think oh maybe we should geocache but then look at our phone and have no signal.

Since you are a premium member, you can create Lists covering the areas where you might regularly be out and about in your local area, or where you're going on vacation, etc. Your Lists are available through the official Geocaching apps, and you can save all the cache information and maps for offline use. 2351a5e196
