LocFi is a family location sharing and tracking app designed to help family members and trusted contacts view each other’s location and receive location-based alerts. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

A. Account & Profile Information
Family/group identifiers and relationships (e.g., “Dad,” “Child”) if you add them
B. Location Information
Precise location (GPS) when you grant permission
Background location (if enabled) to provide continuous location sharing, safety notifications, and geofence alerts even when the app is not open
Location timestamps and approximate movement data (derived)
C. Device & App Data
Device identifiers (e.g., advertising ID or device ID where permitted)
IP address, device model, OS version, app version, language
App events (crash logs, performance metrics)
D. User Content
Places you save (e.g., “Home,” “School”), geofence settings, alert history
We use your information to:
Provide real-time location sharing and family/group features
Improve app reliability, security, and performance
Prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
LocFi will request:
Location permission (While Using / Always) depending on features
Optional Background Location for continuous tracking and geofence alerts
Notification permission for alerts
You control sharing: you can pause/stop location sharing, remove members, or change permissions in your device settings at any time. Some features may not work without location access.
Your precise location is shared only with the people/groups you choose (your “Family” or trusted contacts).
If you accept an invite or join a group, group members may see your location based on your sharing settings.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only as needed:
Service providers (hosting, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, maps) that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations
Legal requirements if required by law, court order, or to protect safety, rights, and security
Business transfers if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (you will be notified where required)
We keep your data only as long as needed to:
Provide the service and maintain your account
Meet legal, security, and operational requirements
You may request deletion (see Section 10). Some data may be retained for legal compliance or security purposes.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
LocFi is intended for family use. If you allow a child to use LocFi, you confirm you are the parent/guardian and consent to the child’s data being processed for the service.
We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information without appropriate consent where required by law.
Depending on your region, you may have rights to:
Access, correct, or delete your personal data
Withdraw consent (including location permissions)
Object to certain processing or request data portability

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use safeguards to protect international transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy. If changes are significant, we will notify you in-app or by other reasonable means. The “Effective Date” will be updated.
