Bardstown, Kentucky, known primarily as the Bourbon Capital of the World, is also Kentucky's second-oldest settlement (founded in 1780). Two centuries of fires, epidemics, outlaw shootouts, and executions, as well as its Civil War-era history, old inns, cemeteries, jails, and historic mansions, have given this small town one of the densest collections of ghost stories in the American South.
