Locator - GPS Location Tracker is a family safety, location-sharing, and geofencing application. To fulfill its primary safety functions, Locator - GPS Location Tracker COLLECTS, TRANSMITS, AND PROCESSES REAL-TIME PRECISE LOCATION DATA (LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, SPEED, AND TIMESTAMP), INCLUDING WHEN THE APP IS CLOSED, RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND, OR NOT ACTIVELY IN USE.
WHY WE COLLECT BACKGROUND LOCATION:1. Real-Time Family Location Sharing: To allow trusted members of your private, invite-only Circle to view your current location on the map;2. Place / Geofence Alerts: To detect and send automated push notifications when you or your family members arrive at or depart from predefined safety zones (e.g., Home, School, Work, Gym);3. Location History: To provide circle members with historical route breadcrumbs;4. Safety & Battery Alerts: To notify your family members when your device battery reaches critically low levels alongside your last known location.
HOW IT OPERATES ON YOUR DEVICE:- Android: The App utilizes an active foreground service with a visible persistent notification in the status bar whenever background location reporting is enabled. Location permissions must be set to "Allow all the time".- iOS: The App requires location permissions set to "Always Allow" and "Background App Refresh" enabled to transmit updates when the App is minimized.
MUTUAL CONSENT & ANTI-SURVEILLANCE NOTICE:Locato is STRICTLY NOT a stealth monitoring, spyware, or secret tracking application. Location sharing operates exclusively between devices that have mutually consented to join the same private Circle via a unique 6-character invite code. You can pause or stop location sharing at any time by leaving the circle or revoking location permissions in your operating system settings.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT--------------------------------------------------------------------------------We collect the following categories of information to provide and improve our Services:
2.1 Location Data (Precise GPS Data):- Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude);- Timestamp of recorded location;- Accuracy radius, altitude, and heading (if available);- Reverse geocoded street-level addresses (e.g., street name, district, city) generated via device geocoding services.
2.2 Device & Hardware Information:- Cryptographic Unique Device Identifier (e.g., Android Device ID, iOS Identifier for Vendor / IDFV);- Device model, manufacturer, and operating system version;- Battery percentage level and charging status;- Network connectivity status (Wi-Fi, cellular, offline).
2.3 Profile & Contact Information (User-Provided):- Display Name: You may enter a name or nickname to represent yourself within your Circle;- Phone Number: Optionally provided for circle identification, member invitations, or account linking;- Push Notification Token: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token required to deliver arrival/departure alerts and circle updates.
2.4 Circle & Safety Places (Geofences) Data:- Circle names and associated 6-character invite codes;- Custom designated places created by circle members (e.g., "Home", "School"), including coordinates, geofence radius, and alert settings (arrive/leave notifications).
2.5 Subscription & Purchase Data:- Purchase receipts, subscription status (Active, Expired), product identifiers, and expiration dates processed through Apple App Store (StoreKit) or Google Play Billing via RevenueCat. We DO NOT collect, store, or process your credit card numbers or banking credentials.
2.6 Technical & Crash Diagnostics:- Anonymized crash reports, stack traces, and performance logs collected via Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose and fix app stability issues.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION--------------------------------------------------------------------------------We process collected data exclusively for legitimate business and operational purposes:- To provide core GPS tracking and display your location to authorized Circle members;- To calculate geofence boundaries and trigger arrival/departure notifications;- To display member battery levels so family members know if someone's device is dying;- To verify and manage premium subscription features and active number limits;- To detect, prevent, and address technical faults, bugs, or unauthorized abuse;- To comply with applicable legal obligations and store developer policies.
WE DO NOT SELL, RENT, MONETIZE, OR TRADE YOUR PRECISE LOCATION DATA OR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ADVERTISERS, DATA BROKERS, OR THIRD PARTIES FOR ADVERTISING PURPOSES.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES & INTEGRATIONS--------------------------------------------------------------------------------To deliver reliable real-time services, we partner with industry-standard third-party infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality and security agreements:
- Google Play Services & Google Maps SDK: Map rendering, base mapping tiles, and Android system geocoding;- Apple CoreLocation & Apple Maps: iOS device location framework and geocoding services;- Google Firebase (FCM & Crashlytics): Delivery of push notifications, crash diagnosis, and app stability analytics;- RevenueCat: Secure receipt verification and subscription entitlement management for Apple App Store and Google Play;- Meta / Facebook App Events: Campaign attribution and install analytics, subject to your explicit permission via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework on iOS devices.

DATA RETENTION & ACCOUNT DELETION--------------------------------------------------------------------------------5.1 Retention Period:We retain real-time location data and location breadcrumbs only as long as necessary to provide historical playback features to your circle (typically for up to 30 days) or until you request its deletion.
5.2 Instant & Complete Account Deletion:You possess the unconditional right to delete your account and purge all associated personal data at any time directly within the mobile application.
HOW TO DELETE YOUR DATA IN THE APP:1. Open Locator - GPS Location Tracker;2. Tap the Settings icon in the navigation bar;3. Scroll to the bottom and select "Delete Account";4. Confirm your selection.
WHAT HAPPENS UPON DELETION:Our production backend server instantly processes a permanent, cryptographic purge (`/deleteData`) across all server database collections:- Your user profile and account record are permanently deleted;- Your registered phone number and unique device IDs are erased;- All historical location points and coordinates are permanently deleted;- All created geofences, places, and arrival/leave triggers are destroyed;- All circle memberships, ownership associations, and invite codes are revoked and erased;- Any active support logs linked to your device identifier are removed.
This deletion is irreversible and immediately stops all location sharing.

DATA SECURITY--------------------------------------------------------------------------------We implement robust administrative, technical, and physical security measures to safeguard your personal information:- HTTPS / TLS 1.3 encryption for all data in transit between the App and our backend servers;- Authenticated, tokenized API endpoints to prevent unauthorized access;- Role-based access controls limiting database access strictly to authorized systems;- Invite-code based circle isolation ensuring only authorized members can view location data within their specific circle.
While we employ rigorous industry-standard safeguards, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% immune from security vulnerabilities.

Protecting the privacy of minors is of paramount importance to us.
- Children Under 13 (or under 16 in the EU):The App must only be installed on a minor's device with the verified consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.- Parental Control:Parents can monitor, view, and delete their child's location data or remove their child from a circle at any time.- No Targeted Advertising:We do not use children's data for targeted behavioral advertising, nor do we sell children's personal information.
