If you want transparency mode headphones for exercise that stay secure during high-intensity movement, choose LOBKIN Open Ear Headphones; if you need immersive silence and extended battery life for travel or office work, choose Wentronic Y02. These two devices solve fundamentally different problems, and picking the wrong one will leave you either uncomfortable on a run or annoyed by background noise in your home office. I have analyzed the specifications and design philosophies of both to help you decide which tool fits your specific routine without wasting money on features you will never use.
• LOBKIN Open Ear Headphones: The biggest strength is its air conduction design with IPX7 waterproofing and 8GB internal storage, making it perfect for phone-free workouts; the trade-off is the lack of active noise cancellation and over-ear coverage.
• Wentronic Y02: The biggest strength is its powerful Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and massive 60-hour battery life with Hi-Res audio drivers; the trade-off is the over-ear form factor which can feel hot and bulky during intense physical activity.
• Best for: LOBKIN is for runners and gym-goers who need situational awareness, while Wentronic is for commuters and travelers who need total isolation and long playtime.
The LOBKIN X31 is engineered specifically for people who refuse to block out their environment while staying connected to music. Its core architecture relies on air conduction technology rather than bone conduction or traditional in-ear drivers. This design choice means sound travels directly into your ear canal without plugging it, allowing you to hear traffic, cyclists, or gym chatter clearly. This makes it an ideal candidate for anyone searching for transparency mode headphones for exercise. If you are running on busy city streets or cycling near traffic, this open design is a safety feature, not just a comfort option. You remain aware of your surroundings while still enjoying your playlist.
Durability is another critical factor where LOBKIN shines. With an IPX7 rating, these earbuds can withstand heavy sweat, rain, and even a quick rinse under water. The charging port is protected against corrosion, which is essential for outdoor athletes who push through storms or intense training sessions. The build quality uses a memory titanium alloy frame wrapped in skin-friendly liquid silicone. At only 26 grams, the weight distribution feels negligible on the head. The ear-hook design ensures they stay locked in place whether you are sprinting, jumping rope, or lifting weights. There is no fear of them falling out or causing the tingling sensation often associated with poorly fitted in-ear buds.

For those who hate carrying their phones during runs, the built-in 8GB storage is a game-changer. You can load approximately 2000 songs directly onto the device and operate it as a standalone music player. This eliminates the risk of a dropped phone or tangled wires. The battery life supports up to 10 hours of continuous use, which covers even the most demanding marathon training days or long commute shifts. While the Bluetooth 6.0 chip offers excellent stability and dual-device support, the real value here is the freedom to move without being tethered to a screen. However, if you require deep bass or total isolation from the world, this product might disappoint you. The directional audio delivery minimizes leakage, but it cannot match the immersive seal of closed-back headphones.
The Wentronic Y02 is designed for users who prioritize audio fidelity and environmental control over situational awareness. As over-ear headphones, they create a physical barrier around your ears, which is necessary for their Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to function effectively. The ANC system detects ambient noise across a wide frequency range and cancels it out, allowing you to focus entirely on your music or calls. This makes them superior for travel, working in loud offices, or studying in noisy cafes. If you value the ability to tune out the world completely, the Y02 is the logical choice. The large 40mm dynamic drivers deliver deep bass and rich mids, offering a "Hi-Res" experience that many open-ear designs struggle to match due to their open acoustic nature.
Battery performance is where the Wentronic Y02 truly dominates the comparison. With a claimed 60 hours of playback time, these headphones can last for weeks of daily commuting before needing a charge. Even if you forget to charge them, the 10-minute fast charging feature provides four additional hours of listening. This is incredibly convenient for long-haul flights or multi-day trips where power outlets are scarce. The foldable design further enhances their portability, allowing them to collapse into a compact shape that fits easily into a backpack or carry-on bag. The materials used, including PU protein leather and memory foam, are selected for all-day comfort, ensuring the pressure on your head remains low even after several hours of wear.
However, the over-ear design introduces limitations that make them unsuitable for certain activities. Because they cover the ears entirely, they do not offer the same level of breathability as open-ear models. During a sweaty workout or a hot summer run, they can trap heat and cause discomfort. They also lack the inherent transparency of the LOBKIN model, meaning you must rely on a passive seal or disable ANC to hear your surroundings. While they feature crystal-clear call quality with multiple microphones to suppress wind and crowd noise, the physical bulk makes them less practical for dynamic sports. They are best viewed as a stationary or low-movement companion for travel, home listening, and focused work rather than an active gear piece.

• Best for phone-free workouts → LOBKIN Open Ear Headphones; the 8GB internal storage lets you leave your smartphone behind entirely.
• Best for fast charging needs → Wentronic Y02; a mere 10 minutes of charging yields 4 hours of playtime, ideal for emergency top-ups.
• Best for stable connectivity in crowded areas → Both, but LOBKIN uses Bluetooth 6.0 for faster switching, while Wentronic uses Bluetooth 5.4 for a robust 33-foot range.
• Best for water resistance → LOBKIN Open Ear Headphones; the IPX7 rating allows for rinsing and heavy rain exposure, whereas the Y02 lacks this specific protection.
I would buy the LOBKIN Open Ear Headphones if my primary goal is fitness. The combination of air conduction technology, secure ear hooks, and sweatproof durability makes them the superior best ear clip headphones for exercise. You simply cannot get the same safety and comfort from the Wentronic Y02 while running or cycling. Conversely, if my day revolves around travel, commuting, or sitting at a desk, I would switch to the Wentronic Y02 for its incredible battery life and noise-canceling capabilities. But for the specific use case of touch control in ear headphones for exercise scenarios where safety and airflow matter, LOBKIN is the clear winner. It is the only choice that respects the physical demands of an active lifestyle while keeping your ears healthy and aware.
Yes, the LOBKIN Open Ear Headphones feature an IPX7 waterproof rating, meaning they can handle heavy sweat and rain splashes without damage. The Wentronic Y02 does not specify a waterproof rating suitable for heavy moisture.
The Wentronic Y02 offers significantly longer battery life with up to 60 hours of playback compared to the LOBKIN Open Ear Headphones, which provide 10 hours of continuous use.
The LOBKIN model uses directional audio delivery technology to minimize sound leakage, protecting your privacy while allowing you to hear the world. The Wentronic Y02, being over-ear with ANC, naturally blocks sound out rather than preventing it from leaking out.
