LMS Students Celebrate National Poetry Month with Blackout Poetry!

April is National Poetry Month and we have some very talented poets at LMS! Below are just a few Blackout Poetry examples uploaded to our LMS Library Google Classroom. So proud of the creative efforts of everyone who participated!

I will post more Blackout Poems in the weeks to come, but if you're curious, ask your student to show you the other amazing entries in his/her Google Classroom. Miss you all! Enjoy!

Weekly Origami Fold

Hello to all of my devoted LMS Origami Fanatics! Origami has been a fun makerspace activity in the LMS Library this year, so I thought I'd post a weekly tutorial to inspire some new folding techniques. This week's video features author Tom Angleberger folding a Yoda character like the one featured in his Origami Yoda book series, a favorite at LMS. Did you do it? Send me a picture of your creation to tappanj@usd416.org. Can't wait to see what you come up with! Happy folding!

Hello to all LMS Wildcat Readers and Families!

Hello LMS Readers! Wow, I really miss seeing your smiling faces in the LMS Library. Thankfully, access to books does not have to stop during this school closure. Many organizations are coming together to give students FREE access to high quality ebooks and audiobooks at home. So as not to overwhelm you, I am sharing just a few this week, but check back often for more reading information and fun activities that you can do at home! If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out to me at tappanj@usd416.org. I'd love to hear from you!

Miss you! Keep reading! --Mrs. Tappan
