Monthly Meetups

in Montgomery County, Maryland

LLL Monthly Meetups are an invaluable way to meet other parents and expectant parents going through similar experiences.

A typical meetup allows plenty of time for questions, and parent-to-parent sharing in a warm and supportive atmosphere. Meetups are informal, supportive, inclusive discussions, they are not classes or lectures, and no two Meetups are alike.

As Leaders we are here to help support you as you determine, work toward, and even surpass your nursing goals. There is no right or wrong way to be a parent and LLL supports ALL breastfeeding/chestfeeding familes no matter what your goals might be, you are welcome and encouraged to attend.

All of our Meetups are open to anyone interested learning about or are feeding their child(ren) human milk.

MEETUP FAQ:

What's an LLL meeting.pdf

Do I have to be a member to attend at Meetup? No, all Meetups are FREE with no membership required.

Can I attend while pregnant/pre-adoption? Yes! We encourage expectant parents to attend, its a great way to gain knowledge and insight, and also build a network and community before baby arrives.

Can I bring my baby?... Do I HAVE to bring my Baby? Babies are always welcome, but aren't required! Some parents come by themselves, some bring the whole family! Toddlers and older children may get bored, so we ask that you bring quiet activities for them if they will accompany you.

Are only women allowed at Meetups? All of our Meetups are open to anyone interested in feeding their child(ren) human milk regardless of their gender. Have a support person? You can bring them with you so they can learn and participate as well! Don't have a support person? We'll be that system for you if you want.

Do I HAVE to talk? No, meetups are a supportive, inclusive space, do/say what you feel comfortable with. Many parents find that sitting quietly and listening to others is just as helpful!

Will I fit in? Will I be judged or shamed for ________? Some new parents may worry that others might judge or shame them for parenting choices or even for things out of their control. Please know that Meetups are supportive discussions and accredited Leaders are always present to maintain that safe space for everyone. LLL supports ALL breastfeeding/chestfeeding families no matter what your situation or goals might be. Whether you are feeding at the breast/chest or feeding human milk in a variety of methods or supplementing with formula you are welcome without judgement. Whatever your goals are, if you plan to nurse for minutes, weeks, months or years you are welcome without judgment.
