I research language revitalization, learning, and teaching, Indigenous sovereignty, research ethics, and language ideologies. My research and work also focuses research sovereignty. My background is in Linguistics (B.A. and M.A. in Applied Linguistic Anthropology) and Anthropology (Ph.D.) as well as Library Science (M.S.). I teach in the fields of Native American Studies, linguistics, sociolinguistics, and anthropology. I base my teaching practices on the theories of learner-centered design and andragogy.
