Biography

My name is Elizabeth Irizarry de Toro, but my friends call me Liz. I am Puertorican descent and was born in the Bronx, NY. I was raised by Methodist parents that decided to become missionaries in Puerto Rico when I was 11. We had become gypsies moving around from place to place because of my father being a Methodist minister. I never had a home town or stable friends until we moved to Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico in 1982. I guess this is where I received a special call and love for others participating in mission field trips and all kinds of humanitarian activities.

In 2003 I became an AmeriCorps VISTA member in order to found and administrate the UNE Community Tech Center in Cabo Rojo PR. The main goal was to be able to break the digital divide. To our satisfaction we met and exceeded that goal and the program became a success and 15 years later is still up and running. Since then I have founded and administrated many such programs and have helped countless people achieve their goals in life.

My education: I have three years of Theology specialized in Christian Biblical Studies, a BA in Early Childhood Ed and a Masters of Educational Technology from Strayer University on March 28, 2010. I have more than fifteen years of experience working in educational institutions and over 25 years teaching. I hope that if I work with you at anytime, I can only mirror the teaching skills of my best buddy, Jesus!

My Motto: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me..."Phil.4:13

Best Regards and God Bless!
