Living with Lewy Body Dementia
James Wood died on November 22, 2019 from Lewy Body Dementia. We are eternally grateful and heartened by all those who rallied around him and his family this past year to raise funds that afforded him the best care possible, when he needed it most.
A memorial service will be held for James Wood on Sunday, January 12 at 1:00pm in Rossmoor / Walnut Creek, California (1015 Stanley Dollar Dr, Walnut Creek, CA 94595). We invite all who wish to attend to come and honor Jim and his great life.
Lewy Body is a degenerative disease that took so much of what we love about Jim away from his family and friends, but we are honored to have had him in our lives, and hope we were able to care for him the way he spent his whole life caring for others.
If you would like to make a donation in Jim's honor, please consider the following:
- Lewy Body Dementia Association to support research and resources for those living with this disease.
- Southern Poverty Law Center - Jim was an avid supporter of SPLC because of its mission to fight hate and bigotry and seek justice for the most vulnerable members of our society.
- American Civil Liberties Union - Jim was also a long-time supporter of ACLU because of its mission to realize the promise of the Bill of Rights for all and expand the reach of its guarantees.
