AbstractEstablished by activists, Kin Cooperative was set up to change the UK's financial culture and systems by putting the community back into saving. Hear how we went from the first idea to working with lawyers to create a new type of cooperative organisation; approval from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority to difficulties with funding; building the platform to serving our first twenty groups; and our strategy to grow the platform and the cooperative in a way that creates sustainable rewards for the often expropriated work of community leadership. BIO: Rob Callender is the co-founder of Kin Cooperative, a not-for-profit community-based financial platform and network.
