Livia Campo
Hello! I am a postdoc at the University of Vienna in the group of Balázs Szendröi.
Before coming to Vienna, I was in Seoul as a Research Fellow at KIAS (Korea Institute for Advanced Study) with Kiem Young-Hoon, and I spent a term as a JSPS Fellow at Saga University, Japan, working with Okada Takuzo.
Previously, I was a postdoc at the University of Birmingham, where my mentor was Marta Mazzocco, and at the University of Nottingham, working with Al Kasprzyk.
I got my PhD in 2020 at the University of Warwick under the supervision of Gavin Brown.
I did my undergraduate and master degrees at Sapienza - University of Rome.
My research is in Birational Geometry.
Specifically, I am interested in the classification and construction of terminal Fano 3-folds in high codimension. In particular, I study their birational geometry by looking at sequences of birational transformations relating them to one another. I am also interested in birational rigidity question, and K-stability of Fano varieties. More recently, I've been looking at the interplay between Mirror Symmetry and the combinatorics of Fano varieties.
Where I'll be:
Jan 10, Warsaw (IMPANGA Seminar);
Jan 29, Warwick (Algebraic Geometry Seminar);
May 5-9, Luminy (CIRM, Workshop on Cremona Groups);
Jun 30 - Jul 11,Honolulu (Polarised varieties and their applications).
