Rain is a weather application designed to provide real-time and forecast weather data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining transparency in how your data is handled.
Precise Location (GPS):
If permission is granted, the App uses your device’s GPS to determine your exact location (latitude and longitude) for accurate weather data.
Coarse Location:
Network-based location may be used as an alternative for approximate positioning.
Manually Entered Locations:
When you search for a city, the App stores the selected location (city name, region, latitude, longitude) locally on your device.
Important:
Location data is never stored on our servers and is only shared with the Open-Meteo API to fetch weather information.
The App uses the device_info_plus plugin to access only the Android SDK version.
This is used solely for UI compatibility. No unique identifiers or tracking data are collected.
The following settings are stored locally using the Isar database:

AMOLED mode
Material color preference
Language
Measurement units (metric/imperial)
Temperature, wind speed, and pressure units
Time format (12/24 hour)
Notification settings and schedule
Widget customization

UI preferences (round degree, large elements)
Weather data retrieved from the Open-Meteo API is stored locally to improve performance and enable limited offline access.
Cached data includes temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind, UV index, cloud cover, and related weather metrics.
This data is automatically refreshed and deleted after 12 hours.
We do not collect, store, or share:
Personal information such as name, email, or phone number
Account credentials (no login system exists)
Financial or payment details
Contacts, SMS, or call logs
Photos, camera, or microphone data
Browsing history
Advertising IDs or tracking data
Analytics or usage tracking
Crash reports sent to external services
The App may request certain permissions to function properly.
INTERNET: Required to fetch weather data and map content
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION: Used to provide accurate weather based on your GPS location
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: Used for approximate location if GPS is unavailable
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Ensures notifications continue after device restart
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: Allows precise scheduling of weather alerts
All permissions are optional except INTERNET.
Location access is only used when you enable the “Use current location” feature. Notification-related permissions are only used if you enable notifications.

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
Since no personal data is collected, the App is suitable for general audiences.
The App uses WorkManager to periodically update widgets using locally stored data.
These background tasks do not make network requests.

The widget displays weather information using locally cached data.
It updates periodically and supports customization through app settings.
All widget data is stored locally.
You have full control over your data:
Enable or disable location access
Manage notification settings
Refresh or delete cached data
Change or remove saved locations
Uninstall the App to delete all data
Weather data is deleted after 12 hours
Preferences remain until changed or app removal
Saved locations remain until manually deleted
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top.
Continued use of the App indicates acceptance of any updates.
