My wife received a kidney transplant in 2004 from having complications from many years of diabetes. She received her transplant from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD.
She took care of it, however, she contracted COVID in 2022. Because of that her kidney began to decline. However, it remained functional for several years. In the fall of last year, she had exploratory surgery at the University of Maryland for a tumor which was nonexistent. During the surgery, her blood pressure got too low and it destroyed her kidney.
In January of this year, she began dialysis at US Renal in Seaford, Delaware 3 times a week for 4 hours each. Recently, she started dialysis at home which cuts down on the travel however, this also creates other health issues.
