About this project
As The Yan's Snow Mochi & More expanded their menu, they introduced a variety of refreshing drinks to pair with their signature mochi treats. To enhance the café’s visual identity, they wanted their drinks menu to feature playful and engaging illustrations. The goal was to make the menu not only functional but also visually appealing, aligning with the café’s vibrant and fun atmosphere. My task was to create unique, hand-drawn illustrations for each drink, ensuring they complemented the overall aesthetic of the brand and appealed to customers.
Client
The Yan's Snow Mochi & More is a charming café in Rotterdam, known for being the first snow mochi pop-up in the city. Specializing in snow mochi—a unique dessert treat—the café provides a warm, inviting space where customers can enjoy a range of delicious mochi flavors and other Asian-inspired desserts. Their expansion into offering drinks was part of their effort to create a more comprehensive and enjoyable café experience.
01. Research
The goal of the research phase was to explore illustration styles that would best align with the client’s branding. Additionally, I analysed different types of menu designs to gain insight into current market trends and aesthetics.
02. Visualisation
The client requested nine drink illustrations, including matcha, coffee, and sparkling soda options. Each drink was depicted with key details like ice cubes or bubbles to enhance visual clarity. After completing the illustrations, I designed three menus—Matcha, Coffee, and Sparkling Soda—adding names, prices, and final details
