Little Kesho is a musical-ecological-philosophical show for everyone
An initiation
KESHO in Swahili means tomorrow, and in this musical show created with a collective of 24 young Rwandan artists aged 17 to 33 - authors, composers, singers, instrumentalists and performers - essential and urgent themes are addressed to meet planetary challenges: climate change, the erosion of biodiversity, the non-respect and the absence of protection/preservation of our environment, pollution, overexploitation leading to the impoverishment of the soil, the air, and above all the choices and the responsibilities to be taken by all of us and even more so by younger generations.
Little KESHO is a musical interrogation, a poetic encounter, a mysterious journey, an opportunity to share our views of the world as Africans but above all as a temporary inhabitant of this beautiful planet.
There is no planet B.
A discovery
Little KESHO allows the discovery of a wide range of musical expressions from Rwanda and elsewhere, ancient or current, from a capella singing to the Inanga (traditional Rwandan cithare) or to the drum, and helps to raise awareness among young people about cultural diversity (linguistic and artistic), to the major challenges of our time, and through art, to develop critical thinking, a sense of aesthetics, sharpen our outlook on the world and act as more responsible citizens.
The creative ensemble
To carry out this ambitious musical storytelling project, ISHYO brought together over several months, a team, a talented and dynamic collective who very generouslyparticipated in the reflection, creation and production of this multifaceted work.
