Freno is a privacy-first conversation platform that allows users to have paid, anonymous conversations with listeners via chat, voice calls, and video calls. The platform is designed for respectful conversation and emotional sharing only.
Freno is not a dating service, therapy service, medical service, or counseling platform. Listeners are independent individuals and do not provide professional advice.
The App is intended for users 18 years of age or older.
We collect the following information when you use the App:
Mobile phone number (for authentication)
Profile preferences such as avatar, language, and interests
Wallet and transaction-related records
Reports or feedback you submit
We do not require your real name, address, or public identity.
Chat messages are not stored by default and are automatically deleted after a session ends.
Voice and video calls are not recorded by default.
If a user submits a report during a session, then:
Chat messages related to that session may be saved
Voice or video recording may begin from the moment the report is submitted onward
Recorded or saved data is used only for moderation, safety, and dispute resolution.
We may automatically collect limited technical information, including:
Device type and operating system
App version
Network and connectivity status
Crash logs and diagnostic data
This data is collected via Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve app stability and performance.
Freno requests the following permissions strictly to provide core functionality:
Internet & Network Access – to connect calls and chats
Microphone – for voice calls
Camera – for video calls
Bluetooth – for audio routing to headsets
Storage – for temporary caching and optional media sharing in chat
Foreground Services – to allow calls to continue when the app is in the background
Notifications & Vibration – for incoming session alerts and reminders
Wake Lock & Boot Receiver – to maintain call stability
We do not access contacts, call logs, SMS, or precise location data.
Freno uses third-party payment providers such as Razorpay and Cashfree to process payments.
We do not store credit card, debit card, UPI, or bank account details
Payment providers handle sensitive financial information securely
We store only transaction references and wallet balances for accounting purposes
We use collected data to:
Provide chat, voice, and video call services
Match users with listeners
Process payments and wallet transactions
Enforce platform rules and prevent abuse
Respond to reports and safety concerns
Improve app performance and reliability
We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
Users can report inappropriate behavior during or after a session.
When a report is submitted:
Relevant session data may be preserved temporarily
Moderators review the content
Appropriate action is taken (warnings, suspension, bans)
Once a report is resolved, preserved data is automatically deleted after a limited retention period.
Non-reported chats and calls are not retained
Reported content is stored only as long as necessary for review
Transaction records are retained as required by law
You may request account deletion at any time through the app or by contacting us.
Upon deletion request:
Your account is deactivated
Personal data is deleted within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including:
Secure authentication
Encrypted communication
Restricted internal access
However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Freno is strictly for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor is using the App, please contact us immediately.
