Some of my students and me onstage at a recent recital. (That's me on the far right!) I teach all ages. Many of my students have reached middle school age, and I'm starting a new cohort of younger beginners.
My first studio was in my hometown, Bellingham, from 2005-2011. Those first families trusted me, a young teacher, with their students. I learned so much from them. In 2008, I moved to Seattle for graduate school but continued to drive up to Bellingham every Wednesday to teach eleven lessons in a single day (and fit in a mountain bike ride!). That was exhausting, but the continuity was incredibly valuable, as I was able to start a lot of students and help them reach an intermediate playing level. After I finished graduate school in 2011, I sadly decided to close my Bellingham studio and began to build my Seattle studio in earnest. At one point I was teaching in five locations and had 25 students on Twinkle! I taught both privately and at Music Center of the Northwest until 2014, when I consolidated my studio and launched my current program. I serve the Northeast Seattle area, which is a friendly and vibrant part of the city. Many of my students live within 10 minutes of my studio and have been with me six, seven, and even ten years. It's a joy to work with them and their families.
I've compiled some details about my studio here. Current students will find the dates to be helpful, and prospective students can get a sense of the program. You can access this information from the drop-down menu above or right here:
