If you want a precise, vehicle-specific replacement for your Fiat Novo UNO, Palio, or Fiorino and need a direct-fit solution that matches the original equipment dimensions, choose LIRHIQYGF 52105420; if you need a robust, OE-number-matched reservoir for an older BMW E46 series and prioritize rigorous material testing for high-pressure durability, choose Generic Steering Oil Tank. This decision is not about which part is universally superior, but rather which one aligns with your specific repair needs for DIY repairs on your particular make and model.
• LIRHIQYGF 52105420: Its greatest strength is its exact compatibility mapping to FIAT models from 2010 through 2018, ensuring a seamless fit without modification. Its trade-off is that it is strictly limited to these specific Italian vehicles and offers no utility for other brands. This pick is for the owner of a FIAT Novo UNO, Palio, or Fiorino who wants a straightforward swap.
• Generic Steering Oil Tank: Its biggest advantage lies in its construction using high-strength, age-resistant materials designed to withstand long-term system pressures, backed by multiple OE numbers for broad verification. Its limitation is that it serves only the BMW E46 platform (1997–2006) and will not function on any other vehicle. This pick is for the DIY mechanic working on a classic 3-series BMW who needs a part built for endurance.
The LIRHIQYGF 52105420 is engineered as a dedicated component for the FIAT ecosystem, specifically targeting the Novo UNO, Palio, and Fiorino lines produced between 2010 and 2018. If you are staring at a leaking fluid line under the hood of one of these cars, this part is designed to be the exact counterpart to the original system. The product information confirms it comes as a single unit count, meaning it includes the tank and cap assembly necessary to restore the power steering fluid capacity without requiring additional purchases.
This component is ideal for the owner who values specificity over versatility. Because it is manufactured to match the exact specifications of those FIAT models, the installation process should be intuitive for anyone familiar with the engine bay layout of these vehicles. There is no guesswork regarding bolt patterns or hose connections because the design is tailored to the factory requirements of the 2010–2018 lineup. It is the go-to choice when the goal is to return the vehicle to its intended performance standards with minimal friction during the repair process.
However, you must skip this option entirely if you own a different brand of car. Even if your vehicle is from a similar era, the mounting points, fluid capacity, and hose configurations of the LIRHIQYGF 52105420 are unique to the FIAT architecture listed. Trying to force this into a non-compatible chassis would result in failure. Furthermore, if you are looking for a universal tank that can be adapted across various platforms, this part is too specialized to serve that purpose. It is a precision tool for a specific job, not a general-purpose spare.

The Generic Steering Oil Tank is built with a focus on longevity and structural integrity, specifically for the BMW E46 generation, which includes the 323i, 325i, 325xi, 328i, 330i, and 323Ci models produced from 1997 to 2006. Unlike generic parts that might cut corners on material quality, this unit is constructed from high-strength, age-resistant materials. This specification suggests it is designed to handle the thermal cycling and pressure fluctuations inherent in older German engineering without degrading prematurely. The emphasis on "rigorously tested" materials implies a manufacturing standard that aims to replicate or exceed the durability of the original equipment.
This product is perfect for the enthusiast maintaining a classic BMW who understands that the power steering system operates under significant stress. The inclusion of multiple OE numbers (32411097164, 32411124680, 32416851217, etc.) provides a layer of verification that ensures this is the correct replacement for the specific variant of the E46 you are servicing. It maintains optimal fluid levels and ensures continuous circulation, which is critical for preventing the stiffness and noise that often plague aging steering systems. If your goal is to restore smooth, responsive handling and eliminate the risk of fluid leaks caused by brittle plastic, this tank is the logical choice.
Conversely, this part has zero applicability outside the BMW E46 family. Attempting to use this on a newer BMW or a completely different manufacturer like Ford or Honda would be impossible due to differences in shape, port location, and volume. Additionally, if you require a part that comes with a branded warranty from a major automotive supplier, you should note that the manufacturer listed is LKXQT, not the car manufacturer itself. It is a high-quality aftermarket solution, but it remains strictly bound to the BMW E46 platform.
• Best for exact model fitment → Choose LIRHIQYGF 52105420 if your vehicle is a FIAT Novo UNO, Palio, or Fiorino (2010–2018).
• Best for material durability → Choose Generic Steering Oil Tank if you need high-strength, age-resistant construction for a BMW E46.
• Best for OE number verification → Choose Generic Steering Oil Tank because it lists four specific OEM reference numbers for cross-referencing.
• Best for immediate availability of complete kits → Choose LIRHIQYGF 52105420, which is sold as a single unit including the cap.
• Best for restoring old German engineering → Choose Generic Steering Oil Tank as it is explicitly designed to maintain optimal fluid levels in the E46 system.
• Best for simple, direct replacement → Choose LIRHIQYGF 52105420 for owners who want a part labeled specifically for their car's year range.
• Best for high-pressure resistance → Choose Generic Steering Oil Tank given its description as being built to withstand long-term power steering system operation pressures.
• Best for avoiding cross-compatibility errors → Both products are highly specific; choose based solely on your VIN and model year to ensure safety.
In my opinion, the choice comes down entirely to the car sitting in your driveway. I would buy the LIRHIQYGF 52105420 if I were fixing a FIAT, simply because its packaging and description scream "exact fit" for that specific lineup, making it the most logical path for a hassle-free repair. However, for the BMW E46 crowd, I would strongly recommend the Generic Steering Oil Tank. The emphasis on age-resistant materials and the explicit listing of multiple OE numbers gives me more confidence that it will hold up under the pressure of an older German engine bay. Both parts serve their intended niches perfectly, so for DIY repairs, the winner is always the one that matches your vehicle's identity.
No, this part is specifically designed for the Novo UNO, Palio, and Fiorino models produced between 2010 and 2018. It will not fit other FIAT vehicles outside this specific range.
You should check the OE numbers listed (32411097164, 32416851217, etc.) against the number stamped on your existing reservoir. It is also confirmed for E46 models from 1997 to 2006.
While the sheets do not explicitly state the material composition beyond "high-strength" and "age-resistant," the LIRHIQYGF is a standard fluid tank, and the Generic version emphasizes durability against long-term operation pressures.
