Lira is an adults-only dating and social application. Nobody under 18 is permitted to hold an account, and no form of child sexual abuse or exploitation is tolerated on the platform under any circumstances.
We maintains the standards set out below, publishes them in connection with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy, and applies them alongside the Lira Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Anyone who uses Lira is bound by them.
1. Zero tolerance
Child sexual abuse and exploitation — referred to throughout this document as CSAE — is among the most serious forms of harm that can occur on any online service. Lira treats it accordingly. There is no warning stage, no strike system, and no allowance for context, artistic intent, or claimed research purpose. An account found to be involved in CSAE is removed.
2. Terminology
Throughout this document:
A minor is anyone below the age of 18.
CSAM is child sexual abuse material: any visual depiction, in any medium or file format, of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor.
CSAE covers the full range of conduct that sexually abuses a minor, sexually exploits a minor, endangers a minor, or places a minor in a sexual frame. Producing CSAM falls within it, as do possessing, requesting, offering, advertising, and distributing CSAM, and so do grooming, sextortion, the sexual solicitation of a minor, and the trafficking of a minor.
Grooming describes the practice of building a relationship, a sense of trust, or an emotional bond with a minor in order to abuse, exploit, or manipulate that minor sexually.
Sextortion describes the use of threats — to publish intimate images of a minor, or intimate information about a minor — as leverage to extract sexual imagery, sexual acts, payment, or any other benefit.
3. Reach of these standards
These standards govern every account, every piece of content submitted through Lira, and every exchange that takes place through it, without regard to the user's location. Conduct that begins on Lira and continues elsewhere falls within their reach where we become aware of it.
4. Restriction to adults
The application is designed for adults and is neither directed at children nor distributed through Google Play's Designed for Families program. Registration requires the user to confirm that they have reached the age of 18.
Any signal that an account holder may in fact be younger — whether it arises from a report, from a review of the account, or from any other source — may lead us to suspend or remove that account. Where we do so, we may require further information from the account holder before considering any restoration of access.
5. What is forbidden
None of the following may take place on Lira. Each is a violation whether it succeeds or is merely attempted:
• soliciting, requesting, offering, advertising, linking to, sending, storing, uploading, posting, producing, or in any other way distributing CSAM or facilitating access to it — material that has been hand-drawn, animated, synthesised by software, or produced by an artificial-intelligence system included;
• placing a minor in a sexual frame, whether by depicting the minor sexually, by commenting on a minor in sexual terms, or by presenting a minor in a sexual context;
• grooming someone who is under 18, or who is taken to be, subjecting that person to sextortion, or pursuing sexual contact with them;
• offering, seeking, or arranging sexual services or sexual contact that involve a minor;
• seeking or offering access to CSAM, or access to minors for sexual purposes, whether that access is to be provided on Lira or away from it;
• holding or using an account while below the age of 18, and assisting anyone below 18 in creating or reaching an account;
• posing as a minor, or misstating any person's age, in connection with any of the conduct above;
• any further conduct not itemized here that sexually exploits a minor or places a minor in danger.
How the conduct is characterized makes no difference to whether it is a violation. Labels such as fiction, roleplay, comedy, satire, art, or research do not remove conduct from the scope of this section. Nor does it matter that an AI feature in the application was used to produce the material — the user who produced it is responsible for it.
6. Detection
Lira applies automated screening together with review by trained personnel in order to surface content and behavior that may breach these standards. Signals also reach us from users who report, from third parties, from the service providers who work on our behalf, and from authorities.
We make no claim that this is exhaustive. No detection method, automated or human, catches everything, and nothing in this document should be read as a representation that every violation will be found.
7. Telling us about a concern
Inside the application. Reporting controls are built into Lira and can be used to raise a child safety concern about any account, message, or piece of content, including content that an AI feature produced.
By email. liraandfeedback@lirasoc.com receives child safety reports.
A useful report identifies the account in question, describes what was seen, and gives a rough date and time. One caution: never attach, forward, or otherwise pass on material you suspect to be CSAM, to us or to anyone else. Doing so can itself break the law. Describe the material and say where it appears — that is enough for us to act.
Going directly to the authorities. You are free to report to the authorities instead of, or as well as, reporting to us. In the United States the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children operates the CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org and on 1-800-843-5678. If a child appears to be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Every child safety report we receive is reviewed, and we take whatever action the circumstances warrant.
8. Consequences
Content that breaches these standards may be removed. An account involved in a breach may be restricted, suspended, or terminated. We may act on our own findings or on a report from someone else, we may act without notifying the account holder first, and no purchase is refunded when we do.
Beyond action on the account, we may preserve the relevant records, notify the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children or another competent authority, and respond to law enforcement requests — where we judge that appropriate or where the law requires it of us.
An account holder who considers a decision mistaken may write to liraandfeedback@lirasoc.com.
9. Material suspected to be CSAM
Access to material of this kind is kept to the personnel and service providers who need to handle it. We hold it only so long as we consider necessary, or so long as the law requires it to be held, and it is deleted thereafter. It goes to no one else, apart from the authorities and organizations that the law permits or requires us to disclose it to.
10. Law
We work to meet the child safety obligations that apply where we operate. In the United States those include the reporting duty created by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A and the prohibitions in 18 U.S.C. §§ 2251, 2252, and 2252A. This document neither enlarges nor narrows any duty the law places on us.
11. Revisions
These standards may change. Whatever version appears at this address is the version in force, and the "Last Updated" line above records when it was issued.
