Throughout my career, I have focused on attention, working memory, and perception. However, my approach has changed over time and can be roughly divided into three periods.
In collaboration with my mentor Hal Pashler, I pursued a traditional theory-driven approach in the early stages of my research, which led to the development of a Boolean map theory of visual attention.
Later, I spent several years using the approach of "systematic exploration of a medium-sized field," which resulted in the development of the FVS framework.
Starting from 2020, I shifted my focus towards conducting large-scale experiments. The main outcome of this period is the QCE-SWM model of spatial working memory.
If you're curious about why I've changed my approach to research over the years, here's the story.
