Since this period, Lion Music has operated as a record label with regular releases and seen its roster of artists grow considerably, and they offer varied musical genres and styles. They are a participant in progressive and power metal circles. Lion Music has also branched out into other genres, such AOR/Melodic hard rock, fusion and classic hard rock.

You have to go on a Tuesday for the special. It is so worth it. They have live music if you are into that. They are just amazing with their service and everything that they do. Totally recommend to go there! I will be coming back,

Rick Ruskin has been playing andproducing since the early 70's. His discography spans over20 releases beginning with his first album on the Takoma label. He tours the United Statesregularly and performs locally in Seattleoften. Rick runs a full service recording studio, LionDog, where he produces and records his music and others. He's a frequentcontributor to magazines such as Fingerstyle Guitar and Frets. He is now endorsing and is the Pacific Northwest sales representative for pro audiogear for studios.

Silent Lion has been performing and writing music since 1995 when John Saunders and Barbiel formed the original duo of the group. They started out calling themselves Sassafras, but changed to Silent Lion after their second CD, Convivium was published. This album is the audio companion to the book Lion Songs: Thomas Mapfumo and the Music That Made Zimbabwe (Duke University Press) by Banning Eyre. These songs, recorded between 1973 and 2010, tell the story in unforgettable performances by the man and his extraordinary musicians, including rare and unreleased tracks. Mapfumo himself provides context in excerpts from interviews with Eyre over a span of 30 years.

From the opening scene of The Lion King, you know that you are getting a unique movie. The music is not what you would expect in any other Disney movie. We do not open with a princess singing her woes; we do not hear a narrative with tinkling, quiet music in the background. Instead, we open up with something that is large and loud and amazing. We open with a bang that suggest that this is no ordinary movie that you will be dealing with. The will be a movie beyond expectations.

To preface my further thoughts on the music, I would just like to inform the reader that I am a percussionist. I like loud music. I like interesting music, filled with complex rhythms, music that stands out from the rest and makes you feel alive. Pretty songs are good and all, but they often lack that extra excitement that I so enjoy as a percussionist.

This is exciting music. This is the kind of music that lifts my soul and gets me wholeheartedly interested in the story from the get-go. It begins the movie with a kick that no one can forget, helped by the fact that it is sung in Zulu, and that there are some pretty awesome percussion instrumentals going on in the background.

Judah: I had played in worship bands and had been writing songs. I was at Belmont [University in Nashville, TN] and I called Nate to see if he would be interested. I knew him because he had a beard and played the banjo. He brought along Brian and it just fit. It worked together as musicians and as people.

Linda, who died with less than $25 in his bank account in 1962, was a Zulu migrant worker who composed the song Mbube (lion) in Johannesburg in 1939 and recorded it with a singing group called the Evening Birds.

The song has been recorded by more than 150 different artists and features in at least 15 movies and stage musicals. It has been translated into several languages including French, Japanese, Danish and Spanish.

Puckette has continued working on and with Pure Data ever since. This work has involved a lot of music-making with artists across genres, where Puckette enthusiastically takes on the creative challenges his colleagues bring to him.

During the Elon Music Theatre Senior Casting Director Series, casting director Jay Binder auditioned and gave a Master Class to the Music Theatre Senior Class. Binder, president and chief executive officer of Binder Casting, has been involved in casting movie musicals Chicago, Hairspray and Nine, as well as countless shows on Broadway, regional productions and national tours.

Participants learn the basics of acting, singing, and dancing in this two-week program and present the show for friends and family on the last day. Director Cynthia Eggers will bring out the little actor or actress in all of them! These shows are fully-licensed productions taught in a child-friendly musical theatre format.
