I am an Associate Professor in the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Scholar of Electrical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame from December 2020 to December 2021, where I was hosted by Professor Vijay Gupta. I received my Ph.D. degree in 2020 from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, where I was advised by Professor Shreyas Sundaram. I received my M.S. degree in 2017 from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. Prior to joining Purdue, I received my B.E. degree from the School of Material Science and Engineering at HUST.
Research Interest:
I am broadly interested in designing algorithms to solve optimization problems in large-scale control systems potentially with model uncertainty. The core of my research is to provide provable performance guarantees of the proposed algorithms and understand the fundamental limitations of any algorithms to solve the problem. While the algorithms are designed to solve the problems in control systems, the algorithm also provides methods to solve general problems in online optimization, combinatorial optimization, etc. My research mainly draws on tools and ideas from control and optimization theory, statistics, learning theory, and network science. A list of keywords that summarize my research interest is provided below:
Reinforcement learning for control of unknown dynamical systems;
Online optimization and sequential decision-making;
Combinatorial optimization using submodularity;
Reinforcement learning for large-scale and multi-agent systems.
