Evgen Riabuha ("we", "us", or "our") develops and maintains the LinkUp mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Data when you use our App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect and Use To provide and improve the LinkUp messaging experience, we may collect the following personal data:
Account Data: Your Email address, first name, last name, and an encrypted password. This is required to create your profile, authenticate you, and allow other users to find you.
Profile Data: Your profile picture (avatar) and "About me" information, which you choose to provide voluntarily.
Messages and Media: Text messages and photos sent via the App. (Please note: Private messages and chat names are locally encrypted using cryptographic algorithms before being sent to our servers).
Device Identifiers: We collect Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens exclusively to send you push notifications about new messages.
2. App Permissions For the App to function properly, we request the following device permissions:
Camera (CAMERA): Exclusively used to take photos within the App to share them in your chats.
Storage / Photos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used to allow you to select existing photos from your gallery to send in chats, and to save received photos to your device.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to alert you when you receive a new message.
We do not access your camera, microphone, or photo gallery in the background. Access is only triggered by your direct interaction with the attachment or camera features.
3. Data Security and Encryption The security of your data is our top priority.
End-to-End Style Encryption for Private Chats: Text messages and user names in private chats are encrypted on your device using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) before being transmitted. Our servers only store the encrypted strings.
Password Protection: Passwords are never stored in plaintext. They are converted into secure cryptographic hashes (PBKDF2/SHA-256) locally on your device.
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, remember that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
4. Third-Party Services The App uses third-party services to facilitate our infrastructure. These services may collect information used to identify you:
Supabase: Used as the primary database, media storage, and authentication provider.
Google Firebase (FCM): Used to deliver Push Notifications.
5. Data Deletion Policy You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data.
Self-Deletion: You can delete specific messages within the App (they will be removed for both you and the recipient).
Account Deletion: To completely delete your account, all messages, and uploaded media from our servers, please send a deletion request to linkupspprt@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account. Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
