Greetings. Lingyu here.
I’m a researcher of archiving praxes and a multimedia creator.
I'M YOUR FELLOW HUMAN BEING.
I’m a researcher of archiving praxes and labors. I'm also a photographer and creator of film and multimedia projects.
I'm a roamer in public forums. I'm a listener to people’s ideas and dreams. I'm an explorer of where we came from, where we are and where we should head to.
I'm a Chinese diaspora. I'm a queer. I'm a home cook. I'm an INFJ. And I'm an ordinary otaku who likes slice-of-life anime.
I'm your fellow human being.

RESEARCH
I study community archives of artworks and documents, examining their relations to identities, public memories, and perceptions of the living space. I work in the intersection of library and information science, art history, critical media studies, and other critical and humanistic fields.
In praxes, I also build digital libraries and databases with people across disciplines of LIS, arts, and humanities.

Dataland is a new block-based programming system designed to help middle and high-school-aged students learn and do data analysis and visualization. Dataland aims to foster data literacies in children by enabling them to write computer programs that analyze and visualize data that connect to their personal interests.
#Femifesto is a multilingual feminist-centered framework for collaborative scholarly communication. With this project, we explore scenarios and use cases that arise in a variety of international as well as local scholarly communication contexts. We explore how to enact an ethic of care to ensure that marginalized voices and perspectives are given the space they deserve and that invisible emotional labor is recognized and valued.
Covid Story Map
In this project, we hope to highlight community stories during China's Covid shutdowns by building a public-facing, interactive digital archive that showcases the multitemporal yet all-encompassing impact that Covid and its subsequent “Zero-Covid” policies have had on individuals, and their creative and resourceful ways of coping.
West Bank Wall Art Database
This project aims to develop a database around West Bank Wall's graffiti arts, and connect creative works of resistance with places, communities, artists and activists.
