Q1. How do I start/stop recording?
A. Tap the mic button at the bottom-right to start. Tap again to stop. When you stop, the audio is transcribed automatically and added to the list as a sticky note card.
Q2. Transcription doesn’t start / is slow.
A. iOS Speech Recognition permission is required.
Go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Speech Recognition and turn LinguaNote on. Some languages/features require a network connection—please also check your connectivity.
Q3. Transcription is inaccurate.
A. The most common causes are language mismatch, environmental noise, and speech conditions (speaking too fast, overlapping speakers, etc.). Please check the following first.
App language settings
Make sure the language you spoke matches LinguaNote › Settings › Transcription Language. Mixing English and Japanese (or other languages) reduces accuracy.
Microphone permission & input level
Enable LinguaNote in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone. Also confirm the input level isn’t too low when recording.
Network
Some languages and processing paths may require a stable connection. Try again on stable Wi-Fi.
Update device & app
Update iOS and LinguaNote to the latest version, restart the device, then try again.
Re-transcribe
Run Re-transcribe on the target note (if available). With a better environment, results may improve.
Record in a quiet place (avoid AC or outdoor noise).
Keep ~20–30 cm from your mouth; speak clearly with natural breaks.
Say proper nouns/technical terms slowly; if possible, briefly repeat them.
Use an external mic (e.g., earphone mic) to improve S/N ratio.
Split long recordings by topic (shorter segments are more stable).
Strong dialects/accents, very fast speech, whispering.
Overlapping speech (multiple people talking at once).
Frequent code-switching (e.g., many English words inside Japanese).
Proper nouns such as people/places/product names (hard without context).
When contacting us, please include:
device model / iOS version, LinguaNote version, recording length, the timestamp of the issue (mm:ss), language used, and environment (indoor/outdoor/meeting, etc.).
If possible, also send the relevant audio file and the current transcript (problematic segment). This helps us identify the cause and improve accuracy.
Q4. I denied microphone permission by mistake.
A. Go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone and enable LinguaNote. Restart the app to apply.
Q5. What’s the difference between “Forward” and “Archive”?
A. Forward = “do it later” temporary parking. Archive = completed/long-term storage.
Swipe sticky note cards left/right to quickly move them between Home / Forward / Archive.
Q6. I want to edit or delete a sticky note.
A. Tap a card to open its detail screen and edit the content. To delete, open Archive and use the swipe menu’s Delete.
Q7. The ad overlaps the bottom of the screen.
A. Update to the latest version, then restart the app once. If it still occurs, contact us with your device model and iOS version.
Q8. Where is my data stored? How do I back it up?
A. Data is stored on your device (we do not upload to our servers).
When changing devices, migrate via iCloud / Finder (iTunes) backup & restore, or Quick Start.
Q9. Can I use the app offline?
A. Recording works offline. Transcription may require a network connection depending on environment/language.
Q10. Do I need to register an account?
A. No. You can use the app immediately—no sign-up required.
Q11. How do I contact support?
A. Use Contact at the bottom of this page, or in the app via Settings › Help.
Q12. About use by children
A. If the user is under 13, please use the app with parental consent.
Q1. I set a reminder but no notification came. A. After changing the reminder settings, you must press the “Save” button to confirm. Without saving, the reminder will not be scheduled. Also, please check that iPhone notification permissions for LinguaNote are enabled. Reminders for deleted notes are automatically cancelled.
Q2. How do repeat reminders work? A. You can choose “Daily”, “Weekly”, “Monthly”, or “Yearly” patterns. The reminder will trigger at the set time. With the Interval option, you can also set reminders like “every 1 hour” or “every 3 days”. The number of repeats can be specified, up to a maximum of 10 times.
Q3. Can I change the notification time in bulk? A. Yes. In the “Settings” screen, you can set the default notification time for daily/weekly/monthly repeats.
Q4. Will reminders show when the app is open? A. Yes. Reminders are delivered even while LinguaNote is active in the foreground.
