This Privacy Policy describes how LinguAI ("we", "our", "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
When you use LinguAI, we may collect the following information:
Account information: email address, display name, and profile data you provide during registration or via Google Sign-In.
Learning data: your native language, target language, learning progress, XP, streaks, completed lessons, vocabulary reviews, conversation history with AI characters, story choices, pronunciation attempts, and voice diary entries.
Subscription data: purchase history and subscription status (managed by RevenueCat).
Device information: device type, operating system version, app version, and language preferences.
Usage analytics: anonymized interaction data to improve the app (via Firebase Analytics).
2. How We Use Your Information
Provide personalized language learning content
Generate AI-powered conversations, stories, and translations
Track your progress, streaks, and achievements
Sync your data across devices
Send optional push notifications (daily reminders, streak alerts)
Process subscription payments
Improve the app through aggregated analytics
3. Permissions We Request
Camera: used only when you choose to identify real-world objects via the Camera Vocabulary feature. Photos are processed by Google Gemini Vision API and are NOT stored on our servers or shared with third parties.
Microphone: used for the Pronunciation Practice and Voice Diary features. Audio is processed on-device (speech-to-text) and is NOT stored or transmitted.
Internet: required to sync data, generate AI responses, and process subscriptions.
Notifications: optional, used only for daily reminders and streak alerts.
4. Third-Party Services
LinguAI uses the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

RevenueCat — subscription management (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy)

5. Data Retention
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time through the Settings → Delete Account option or by contacting us.

Depending on your location (GDPR, CCPA, KVKK), you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction or deletion of your data
Export your data in a portable format
Withdraw consent at any time
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
7. Data Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. User data is protected by row-level security policies on Supabase. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
8. Children's Privacy
LinguAI is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
