Do I need an account?

No. The app works fully without sign-in. An account is only used to

manage your subscription on the server side.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Settings app → Apple ID → Subscriptions → LinguaCap → Cancel.

The captions button doesn't appear on a video.

Some sites block third-party scripts. Try another video or YouTube.
