The aim of the Journal of the University of Sydney Linguistics Society is to showcase high-quality essays written by undergraduate students for units that they have studied. Doing this provides a method by which students can display the fruits of their hard work, and a resource for future students so that they can see what high-quality essays look like. The content of the journal is open to contributions about all subdisciplines within linguistics, approaches to the study of language, and specific languages or language families.

The Journal of the University of Sydney Linguistics Society is prepared by the Sydney University Linguistics Society, an organisation affiliated with the University of Sydney Union consisting of mostly undergraduate students with an interest in linguistics.
