Welcome to my homepage!

Since 2021, I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at Olin Business School at Washington University in St Louis. I am also a CEPR research affiliate (Monetary Economics and Fluctuations, Corporate Finance), and a member of the Finance Theory Group (FTG). 

I received my PhD in Economics from the University of Bonn in Germany in July 2017. Before joining Olin, I worked as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Utrecht University in the Netherlands (2016-2018), and École Polytechnique in France (2018-2021).

I hold a Diplom in Mathematics from University of Bonn (2011) and an MSc in Financial Mathematics from University of Edinburgh (2009).

I work as an applied theorist in financial intermediation,  asset pricing, monetary economics, and international finance. 

 My current research focuses on

· financial stability

· private and central bank digital currency

· currency competition

· political economy in finance
