Highlands Neighborhood Association Minutes

November 21, 2023

Board members present: Rod Hubbard, Jenifer Hellwege, Jacob Leuenberger and Rose Klein.

Rod Hubbard made a motion to accept the minutes of the last meeting as printed and emailed. Seconded by Jennifer Hellwege. Approved.

Jennifer Hellwege read the treasurer’s report. Not much has changed since the last meeting. The Boy Scouts and Emerald Care/Lancaster Manor have not cashed their last checks.

 Rod Hubbard made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and pay all pending bills. Seconded by Rose Klein. Approved.

We have not heard, but we hope Brodey Weber is working on the newsletter. Jacob Leuenberger said that if Jennifer will send him the information, he will put a blurb on our Facebook page asking for advertisers for the newsletter.

Jacob said that there are rumors about a future strip shopping center south of the new apartments on West Harvest Dr. Jacob said that he will put a post on our Facebook page about Small Business Saturday for the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Jennifer said that she had an email from Friends of the Pioneers Park Nature Center asking for applications to join its board of directors. They said that new members will be seated at their January 27th Annual Meeting. Jennifer suggested that she could send out emails the second week of December to her list of HNA members email addresses.

We adjourned at 7:35. The next meeting is Tuesday, December 19 at 7 pm at Spirit of Hope Church at 5801 NW 1st St.
