Highlands Neighborhood Association Minutes

August 24, 2020

Board members present: Myrna Coleman, Rod Hubbard, Jennifer Hellwege, Brodey Weber, Rose Klein and Jim Klein.

Jennifer Hellwege made a motion to accept the minutes of the last meeting as printed and emailed. Seconded by Rod Hubbard. Approved.

Jim Klein read the treasurer’s report. He said because we haven’t had meetings since February because of Covid 19 the board members are behind on their dues. Brodey Weber suggested that we send out cards to remind people to renew their memberships. Rose Klein made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and pay all pending bills. Seconded by Rod Hubbard. Approved.

Myrna said the Fire Station will not be available through this year until we are in the Green for Safety. We are in Orange now because of the number of people infected with Covid 19. Brodey Weber said that he would be able to schedule our meetings at the HiPark Apartments Clubhouse since he lives in that complex.

Myrna Coleman said that she did not feel comfortable with us sponsoring the Fall Garage Sales. She suggested that we just let people do their garage sales on their own. Jennifer said that it was a lot of work to do the listings and she didn’t think there would be enough garage sales to make it worthwhile. Brodey thought it might be safer to wait until next year’s garage sales.

We will still go forward with the Goodwill Challenge for people who want to donate items. It will be on Saturday, September 19 from 2-5 pm at the Snap Fitness Parking Lot. Jennifer will put information on the Highlands website, Facebook and Next Door Original Highlands.

Rose Klein reported that Kris Meek has pretty much moved to Missouri. Brodey Weber said he would be interested in learning how to do the newsletter. He would need Kris to teach him how to set it up. Maybe we will wait until December to put one out so he has more time to work on it.

Someone new is in charge of the Boy Scouts who deliver our newsletters. In the future contact Stacie Odom at 5424 W Madison, Lincoln NE 68524, phone number 402-470-3944.

We adjourned at 8:30 pm. The next meeting will be Monday, October 19 at 7:30 at the HiPark Apartments Clubhouse, 5265 NW 12^th St.
