Highlands Neighborhood Association Minutes

December 16, 2019

Board members present: Myrna Coleman, Rod Hubbard, Jim Klein, Rose Klein and Brodey Weber. Member: Jolene Foster. Guest: Jason Patefield. Kris Meek and Jennifer Hellwege excused.

Rod Hubbard made a motion to accept the minutes of the last meeting as printed and emailed. Seconded by Jim Klein. Approved.

Jim Klein read the treasurer’s report. Rod Hubbard made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and pay all pending bills. Seconded by Rose Klein. Approved.

Myrna Coleman attended the Mayor’s Round Table meeting last week. Myrna and Jennifer Hellwege are planning to meet with Mike Peterson of the Planning Commission early in 2020. They can talk to him about the requirements for siting a new sign.

Brodey Weber would like to increase community involvement on what we spend the Goodwill prize money on. He said that if we come up with three or four options, maybe we could have Highlands Neighborhood Association members vote for their choice. Brodey said that he enjoys fund raising and he might be able to get matching funds. He suggested that we could put information in the next newsletter and maybe have a public input meeting in the spring.

Jason Patefield suggested that we call C.I.P. if we would like to get permission to fix up the current Highlands sign at the intersection of NW 1^st and W. Fletcher. He said that as long as they don’t have to pay anything they will probably give us permission to make changes.

This meeting adjourned at 8:30. The next meeting will be on Monday, January 20 at 7:30 pm at the Fire Station.
