She wants to restore ethical integrity in the County Treasurer’s Office and asked for our support. She said that, if elected, she would retire from her current job. The date of the Highland’s Pool Party will be Saturday, July 28 from 6-8 p.m.

The board members and any volunteers will meet at 11 am on Saturday, March 31 to put out eggs for the Egg Hunt. Rose Klein made a motion that we donate $100 to the Lancaster Manor activities area for filling the eggs for the Egg Hunt. Seconded by Rod Hubbard. Approved.

Myrna Coleman updated the membership on Boy Scout projects. Myrna called scout master Andy Bajc on Friday. He said that the city only wants Boy Scouts to plant trees so his son found a different organization to do his park bench project. So we still need ideas for projects to benefit the neighborhood. Myrna will contact Mark Canney of Parks and Rec. for his input.

Myrna said that Public Works and Utilities is having a public meeting on their transportation plan to get input on street improvements. She hopes to find out the projected timeline for work on the strip of Fletcher that goes up the hill to Purple Heart Highway (Hwy 34).

There will be a Community Recycle Event on Saturday, April 21 from 10 am to 12 pm in the Eastridge Elementary School parking lot at 6245 L St. They will take phones and electronics, car batteries, old appliances, steel and scrap metal.

The Highland’s Spring Garage Sales will be on May 17, 18 and 19. We will be participating in the Goodwill Challenge on Friday, May 18 from 4-6 pm and Saturday, May 19 from 3-6 pm in the Snap Fitness Parking Lot. Please bring any donations and excess items left after your garage sales to donate to Goodwill.

We adjourned at 8:50 pm. The next meeting is Monday, April 16 at 7:30 pm at the Fire Station.
