A Letter From Rahee

Hello Delegates!

My name is Rahee Chaklasia, and I am so excited to be serving as your chair this year for the International Maritime Organization! I am a junior here at LAMP and have been in MUN for the last 2 years.

This committee is for those interested in international law, security policy, and climate change. Delegates will debate from negotiating global carbon taxes to create a multi-million dollar plan to protect oceanic ecosystems to arresting pirates in international waters.

Now, a little bit more about me!

• I love baking, making art, and watching movies.

• My favorite series of all time has to be Harry Potter. I also love going to the beach.

• I have been a member of Speech and Debate, HOSA, and Robotics in the past.

IMO is the perfect committee for beginners, so please do not be nervous! This committee will consist of educated and respectful debate about maritime issues. Remember to research your country’s position and to collaborate with others, and you will have a great time in this committee. I cannot wait to meet everyone!

Sincerely,

Rahee Chaklasia
