What is Qigong?

Qigong "Life Energy Cultivation" is a type of practice intended to "align" body, mind and breath for health, meditation, and martial arts training, through powerful breathing techniques

With roots in Chinese medicine, philosophy, and martial arts, qigong is traditionally viewed as a practice to cultivate and balance qi (chi) or what has been translated as "life energy".

According to Daoist, Buddhist, and Confucian philosophy, respectively, qigong is thought to give access to higher realms of awareness. It is thought to help awaken one's "true nature", and help develop human potential.

Qigong practice typically involves moving meditation, coordinating slow flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and calm meditative state of mind.

At Lims Martial Arts we practice several forms of Qigong. These include the 18 Step Taichi Qigong 1-6, Ba Duan Jin, Dao Yin, Wai Tan Kong etc.

We also include Qigong training in our kungfu and taichi classes.
