LILA's Green Team is a group of middle and high school students dedicated to making our school as sustainable as it can be. We want to raise awareness about the environment and inspire others to help us achieve our goals!
We hope you'll join our efforts in working towards a greener future!
President
Madeleine C
“In 10th grade, I joined Green Team because I wanted to be part of the change on campus, from simply attending meetings to organizing groups for the Earth Day activities. Being Green Team president and Minister is so important to me because it means that I can lead the representation of our club and the school in everything sustainable, from educating our community to putting in place green projects, all alongside a great team.”
Vice president
Plum G
"As the Vice President of the Green Team, I oversee the general processes that occur inside and outside meetings and help facilitate all tasks that need to be completed. I work closely with the students and the teacher advisors to promote sustainability across LILA."
Secretary
Liadan L
“I originally joined the Green Team in 10th grade with the encouragement of some friends. Every year, I become ever more passionate about improving our school's sustainability and educating parents and students on developing sustainable habits. As the club's secretary, I coordinate all events and projects, as well as create cute resources to inform LILA on all the Green Team's efforts to support our environment!”
Treasurer
Eloise H
As one of Green Team's CORE, I help to ensure effective communication throughout the green team, and help educate people on proper disposal methods.
Social Media Manager
Anissa H
“I joined the Green Team a year ago, and it has profoundly influenced my commitment to being environmentally conscious. This experience has illuminated both the ways we can protect the Earth and the methods by which we harm it. Motivated by this knowledge, I have dedicated myself to disseminating information through our podcast and other platforms. I was incredibly grateful when the position of social media manager was offered to me, as it allows me to leverage additional resources to advance environmental education.”
Communications Manager
Scarlett B
“Hi! I'm Scarlett, and the reason I wanted to be a GT leader was to promote sustainability that we can implement throughout our school. The team and I are hoping to leave a mark behind and better our community and environment!”
Teacher Advisor
Mr. Bonin
"As a philosophy teacher, I assist the Green Team students in successfully implementing projects and educating the LILA community. I believe that learning is about discovering meaning in all aspects of life. By working together to make LILA a greener school, and by developing sustainable solutions without judgment, we can create an environment that promotes both education and environmental responsibility."
Teacher Advisor
Mme. Lefebvre
"When I first started teaching French at LILA in 2020, I noticed it had great potential for growth in resources and waste management. I also saw a genuine will for optimization from its community through many independent initiatives. The Green Team and sustainable committee, which I collaborate with, have become a place to federate those initiatives and help them gain power and structure. Mostly, I want to support students' projects as I've truly been blown away by the work they've accomplished in a little over two years of Green Team. "
