Established in 2020, Lightridge High School Girls Soccer is a VHSL Region 5D program currently competing in the Potomac District. Spring 2025 saw a historic campaign as the Girls Varsity team earned a program record seven cleansheets and conceded only 25 goals in 17 games, tying the 2023 spring season record. Mischa Bowman (Class of 2025) broke the program record for most cleansheets in a season (6), while Layla Juliano (Class of 2025) broke the all-time program record for most assists (11) and goal-contributions (19). Coming off of this foundational season with Coach Rutan, the 2026 Girls Varsity Soccer team is poised to reach new heights with a talented incoming freshman class and led by a large senior class with two future collegiate athletes: Hailey DeTuro (NCAA D1) and Bryn Overbaugh (NCAA D1).
