Privacy Policy
Light Meter
Effective date: August 3, 2026
Jandem provides the Light Meter application as a free app. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Light Meter application.
Information handled by the app
Light Meter uses the ambient light sensor available on your Android device to measure light intensity.
The app does not require you to create an account and does not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or other directly identifying personal information.
Measurement data that you choose to save, including light measurements, minimum, maximum and average values, measurement duration, calibration information and chart data, is stored locally on your device.
This locally stored measurement history is not uploaded by Jandem to a remote server.
You can delete individual saved measurements or delete your saved measurement history from within the app.
CSV export and sharing
Light Meter allows you to export measurement information as a CSV file. Exporting or sharing a CSV file is initiated by you.
When you choose to share an exported file, Android's system sharing interface is used. The destination application or service you select may process the shared information according to its own privacy policy.
Advertising and third-party services
Light Meter uses Google services including:
Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob)
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)
Google Play Services
These third-party services may collect and process certain information in order to provide advertising, analytics, security and fraud-prevention functionality.
According to Google, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share information such as:
the device's IP address, which may be used to estimate approximate or general location;
interactions with the app and advertisements, such as app launches, taps and video views;
diagnostic information relating to the performance of the app and advertising SDK;
device and account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and App Set ID where applicable.
Data transmitted by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS).
Advertising and consent behavior may vary depending on your region, device settings and choices made through Google's consent system.
For more information about how Google handles data, please review Google's privacy policies and information about Google Mobile Ads.
Consent and privacy choices
Where required, Light Meter uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present privacy and advertising consent options.
Depending on your location and applicable regulations, you may be able to manage certain privacy and advertising choices through the consent interface provided in the app and through Android or Google account privacy settings.
Data retention and deletion
Measurement history created by Light Meter is stored locally on your device until you delete it, clear the application's data, or uninstall the application.
Light Meter does not provide user accounts and Jandem does not maintain a server-side account containing your Light Meter measurement history.
Exported CSV files are controlled by you after export. If you save or share an exported file with another application or service, its retention and deletion are governed by that destination.
Data processed independently by Google or other third-party services is subject to those providers' own retention and deletion policies.
Security
Jandem does not operate a remote server for storing your Light Meter measurement history.
Third-party services integrated into the application use their own security measures. Google states that data transmitted by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using TLS.
No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children's Privacy
Light Meter is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13.
Jandem does not knowingly request personal information directly from children through the Light Meter application.
Third-party services used by the application may process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable legal requirements.
Third-party links and services
The app may interact with or provide access to third-party services. Jandem does not control the privacy practices of those services. Users are encouraged to review the applicable privacy policies of third-party providers.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the application, third-party services, or applicable requirements.
Any updated Privacy Policy will be published on this page together with a revised effective date.
