LiSButton Application Privacy Policy
(українською та російською мовами дивись нижче)
Pavlo Lysytsia has developed this privacy policy to help you understand how LiSButton collects, uses and protects information. By installing and using this application, you agree to this privacy policy and give your explicit and informed consent to the processing and use of data in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not install or use this mobile application.
The privacy policy uses some new concepts. They are marked with asterisks (*, **, ***, etc.) and are explained at the end of this policy.
1) Device location information
The app needs access to the device's location data, even when the app is closed or not in use, to be able to quickly generate and send SOS SMS messages* (SOS messages*) to people close to the user*** after pressing the hardware rescue button**** (double click on it by default) or on the software rescue button*****.
The user’s coordinates read after pressing the rescue button are sent in encrypted form in SOS SMS messages* to people close to the user*** (to people from the “List of close people” of the LiSButton application) and stored in the application’s memory (unencrypted). The application saves in its memory information only about the last sent SOS SMS* (including the transmitted user coordinates). This information is displayed on the “SOS SMS Message” screen and cannot be deleted. The encryption key is known only to the application developer.
The LiSButton application on the receiver's side will decode the SOS SMS message* with the sender's coordinates and show the latitude and longitude values of the point where the sender of the SOS SMS message* is located. The received coordinates are stored unencrypted in the application's memory. The application saves a list of all incoming SOS SMS messages*. The user has the ability to view this list and delete it. Information about the last incoming SOS SMS message* is displayed on the “SOS SMS Message” screen and the ability to remove it is not provided.
The user has the opportunity to click on the "Show on the map" button. In this case, the received coordinates are transmitted in real time in unencrypted form to the Google Maps application, which shows on the map the place where the sender of the message is located. If the user presses the “Show path on map” button, similar actions occur, as a result, the recipient of the SOS SMS message* will see on the Google map the route from him to the location of the message sender.
2) Read incoming SMS
The application reads incoming SMS in real time to detect incoming SOS SMS* (SOS messages*) or important text messages** (special messages with predefined text generated by the LiSButton program upon pressing the rescue button).
In this case, only the first 3 characters of the incoming SMS message are analyzed. If these 3 characters correspond to a unique combination of characters reserved for SOS SMS* (SOS message*) or important text message** (generated by LiSButton), then only the entire text of the received SMS message is parsed. The application memory stores information only about SOS SMS messages* and important text messages** generated by the LiSButton program. Information about other SMS in the application memory is not saved and is not transmitted anywhere. The user can view a list of incoming SOS SMS messages* and important text messages**. It has the option to delete this list. Information about the last incoming SOS SMS message* or important text message** is displayed on the “SOS SMS Message” screen and the ability to remove it is not provided.
3) People's names and their phone numbers
The LiSButton application saves in the application's memory data of people from the “List of close people”: names and phone numbers.
This data is stored only in the application's memory and is not shared with anyone. The user can send SOS SMS messages* to phone numbers from the “List of close people” if the software***** or hardware rescue button**** is pressed (even when the application is closed or not in use).
The user can reconfigure the functions of the hardware rescue button**** and then, if it is pressed, important text messages** (important SMS**) will be sent to phone numbers from the "List of close people", even when the application is closed or not used.
4) Read phone contacts
The application requests permission to read phone contacts for the function to import contacts from the phone's address book into the memory of the LiSButton application. Only those contacts that the user has added to the “List of close people” are stored in the application's memory.
The user has the option to deny permission to read contacts. In this case, the function of importing contacts will not work, but it remains possible to enter callers' data manually.
5) Template for an important text message** (important SMS**)
The application saves the template of an important text message** (important SMS**) in the memory of the LiSButton application. This text can only be shared with people close to the user*** if the hardware rescue button**** is pressed (this function must first be enabled in the rescue button settings), even when the application is closed or not in use. In no other way and to no other people this text can be transmitted. This text is transmitted via SMS in unencrypted form.
Initially, the function of sending important text messages** (important SMS**) is disabled. It can be enabled in the rescue button settings.
Important concepts and definitions
*SOS SMS message (SOS message, SOS SMS) is an alarm SMS containing the user's geographic coordinates, generated by the LiSButton program upon pressing the rescue button.
**Important text message (important SMS) is an SMS with a text predefined by the user, generated by the LiSButton program upon pressing the rescue button.
***Close person is a person whose number is entered in the “List of close people” of the LiSButton application (you can view or change this list in the “Settings” screen of the LiSButton application).
****The hardware rescue button is an iTAG key fob.
*****Software rescue button is the big green button on the main screen.
An outsider is any other person who is not in the “List of close people” of the LiSButton application. A person whose number is stored in the contacts of the phone, but not included in the “List of close people”, is considered an outsider.
The core function of the application is device automation in order to quickly respond in emergency situations.
