Bedrock Edition & Java Edition

There are many differences between Bedrock Edition and Java Edition. They are completely different editions of Minecraft which are working differently: system, redstone, mods, resource packs, shaders, command, entity, etc.

I often saw that many people still confused about this. In this page, I'll show you the Minecraft List. I hope this helps :>

List of Minecraft ~

Bedrock Edition

$6.99 - $49.99

The price is depend on the device. Works on many devices: mobile, desktop, console, etc. You can use many devices to play Minecraft Bedrock Edition legally or officially.

  • Google Play Store

  • App Store

  • Console Edition

  • PS Edition

  • Nintendo Edition

  • Etc.

If you bought Minecraft from Microsoft Store, Google Play Store, or App Store, it means you bought Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

However, on Microsoft Store, you can also get the Minecraft Launcher there for free and buy the Minecraft account on the official website. You can play both Minecraft Bedrock and Java with this Launcher.

If you're playing with mobile, handphone, ipad, tablet, or console, it means you're playing Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

If you're using any above at this list, you're using Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

If you see "MINECRAFT" only on the title screen, it means you're playing Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

You can see the Screen Shot or Picture above for example.

Java Edition

Only works on desktop: WINDOWS, MAC, LINUX (computer or laptop). Whatever, it can be also works on mobile. But it's not official and not recommended to play it on mobile.

Minecraft Launcher (Official)

Overwolf CurseForge Launcher

MultiMC

GDLauncher

ATLauncher

TLauncher

MCLeaks

Pojav Launcher (Java Edition on mobile)

Etc.

With Minecraft Launcher (Official), you can play Minecraft Java Edition, Minecraft Bedrock Edition, Minecraft Dungeons, and also get some News there.

You can get and install the Official Minecraft Launcher on the Microsoft Store. It's free to download the launcher, but not free to get the Minecraft account.

TLauncher, MCLeaks, and Pojav Launcher are not official Minecraft Launcher. TLauncher and MCLeaks are cracked Minecraft. You can use it if you don't have money to buy Minecraft.

If you're using any above at this list, you're using Minecraft Java Edition.

If you see "MINECRAFT JAVA EDITION" in the title screen, it means you're playing Minecraft Java Edition.

You can see the Screen Shot or Picture above for example.

Do I have to buy Minecraft Bedrock Edition again if I already have one? It depends. All versions/editions of Minecraft Bedrock Edition are sold separately. If you bought Minecraft from Play Store and want to play it on your laptop or PC, that means you have to buy Minecraft again because the one you bought on the Play Store is "Pocket Edition", not "Windows 10 Edition". Even though they still count as Minecraft Bedrock Edition, they have different codes and each is sold separately. Minecraft XBOX Edition, Console Edition, PS Edition, etc. are also sold separately.

However, you don't need to buy Minecraft again if you play it on the same device and same account. For example, you bought Minecraft Windows 10 Edition on your old PC. Then, you change your old PC into a new PC. All you need to do is just log in on the Minecraft official website with the same account as you bought the Minecraft before and then you can access Minecraft again. So, you don't need to buy Minecraft again.
