Abhivayakti 25th Feb, 2026
The HDFC Library, in collaboration with the Archives of Contemporary India, successfully conducted : Abhivyakti: A Book Discussion Forum featuring an engaging discussion on The Forgotten Indian Prisoners of World War II by Gautam Hazarika. Held on February 25, 2026, at Ashoka University, the session was led by Prof. Varun Sahni, Professor of International Relations. The discussion highlighted the lesser-known histories of Indian soldiers captured during World War II, exploring themes of courage, captivity, and the complex legacy of the Indian National Army. The event brought together participants for a thoughtful exchange on history, memory, and the human dimensions of war.
Ashoka Literature Festival 13 & 14 Feb, 2026
Ashoka University successfully organized the Ashoka Literature Festival on February 13–14, 2026. The HDFC Library actively participated in the event and introduced “Sameksha,” a book review initiative aimed at encouraging critical reading and literary engagement among students. The festival also saw enthusiastic participation from students, many of whom visited the HDFC Library, further strengthening the connection between the library and the university’s vibrant literary culture.
ResComm 2025 (Research Communication Conclave)

ResComm 2025: Research Communication Conclave 2025, was a three-day, hands-on event organized by the HDFC Library and Research and Development Office from December 17–19, 2025, at the Ashoka University, Sonipat, Haryana Campus. Focused on the theme "Bringing Research into Action," the conclave brought together over 300 stakeholders, including researchers, academics, policymakers, and industry professionals to address the critical need for effective communication in a fast-paced information landscape.
The event featured more than 49 speakers and over 8 workshops designed to equip participants with practical skills in storytelling, data visualization, AI in communication, and grant writing. Sessions highlighted the necessity of adapting academic research for broader audiences, such as policy drafting and public consumption, rather than just academic journals.
Library Reference Desk (LRD) - Jan- 2024
The HDFC Library, Ashoka University, successfully conducted a three-day LRD (Library Reference Desk) outdoor outreach event from January 29 to 31, 2024. Designed to extend library support beyond its physical space, the event provided training on specific resources, facilitated access to the new eLibrary portal, and addressed a wide range of patron queries. The initiative witnessed active participation from Ashokan students, faculty members, research scholars, and staff, reinforcing the library’s commitment to user engagement and accessible, on-the-spot academic support.
One Day Conference on Open Access as a knowledge Platform for SDGs (6 March, 2024)
The HDFC Library, Ashoka University, successfully organized a One Day Conference on Open Access as a Knowledge Platform for SDGs on March 6, 2024. The conference witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 175 attendees, including scholars, librarians, and academicians. The event highlighted the critical role of open access in promoting equitable knowledge sharing and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), fostering meaningful discussions on collaboration, innovation, and the future of accessible research.
