Section 40 of RA No. 9262, also known as the "Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004," emphasizes the crucial role of Local Government Units (LGUs) ii offering essential programs and services for victims of VAWC and other gender-based violence. These services encompass temporary shelters, counseling, psycho-social support, and livelihood assistance, among other forms of assistance.
Furthermore, Section 27 o f RA No. 11930, or the "Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) Act," underlines the responsibility of LGUs, particularly their City or Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices, to provide support services to victims of any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation and their families. This includes access to emergency shelter or suitable housing.
