Amandeep Dhindsa focuses her practice on IP counselling, patent searching, patent drafting and prosecution, IP due diligence and infringement analysis.
Amandeep’s IP practice involves interacting with inventors, screening patentable inventions, preparing patentability opinions, drafting applications, and preparing response to office actions. She further provides IP due diligence, infringement analysis including claim interpretation, technology mapping, evidence of use charts, and freedom-to-operate opinions.
Her expertise spans around multiple technology areas such as electronics, communication, electrical, mechanical, information technology and networking, mobile technology, semiconductors, systems integrated with digital and software technologies, automobiles, artificial intelligence, wearable technologies, autonomous vehicles, healthcare devices, home automation, and robotics. Her work includes prosecuting patent applications for Indian, U.S. and European office actions. She also has experience in application preparation and prosecution under Indian Intellectual Property Law for Design protection.
Prior to joining LexpertConsilium, she worked as a Scientific Officer at DST- Centre for Policy Research, Chandigarh, where she was involved in drafting policy recommendations for enhancing patent commercialization in India, which were submitted as reports to Department of Science & Technology (DST, Govt. of India). She further prepared detailed reports on commercialization of Patents Granted to Higher education institutions and National Research Laboratories of India. She co-authored three research papers, with two papers already published in Scientific Journals. She also organized several seminars and workshops for increasing Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) awareness among researchers and faculty members at various universities in Chandigarh.
She worked as a Patent Associate at a Law Firm, Kan and Krishme, New Delhi, where she prosecuted Indian patent applications from various domains of technology including Electronics, Communications, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, etc. She further prepared prior art reports, responses to examination reports and attended numerous hearings at the Indian Patent Office and carried out various other responsibilities of Patent Agent.
As a Research Associate at Evalueserve SEZ Private Limited, she worked on invalidation analysis, conducted prior art searches, and prepared landscape reports. She also prepared responses to Office Actions of US patent applications and drafted patent applications.
She was nationally selected for the prestigious internship with Patent Facilitation Centre (PFC), TIFAC, Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi under their IPR scheme, and did active work involving patentability analysis and drafting patent applications connected with DST and its affiliates.
Prior to her experience in Intellectual Property, she gained experience in the Information Technology domain. She was associated with Infosys Technologies Ltd working as a Senior Software Engineer and was responsible for providing service, maintenance and enhancements to LexisNexis Applications used by internal and external users to get Legal information in customized form. Her work extensively involved incident management- troubleshooting and providing resolutions to incidents such as changes in database, application code changes, configuration changes etc., problem management – conducting root cause analysis and providing a fix for high severity incidents, and enhancements –initiation of the requirement by business, estimation of efforts, detailed impact analysis, code development, testing, and deployment of the changes in production.
